Do share some tips? Like do you paint it before or after gluing in place? I tend to knock it off when I paint...

Before with enamels (as a primer coat) and after install, with acryls, to match the rest of the ship’s paintwork. Also put it on as you finish a level, but before you install the level concerned - there’s a real knack to it, but once you get it down, there’s no further suprises, only your own carelessness ! 🤫

Just ordered some etched brass modern RN and modern Russian Radar Units, plus some .02 gauge brass wire, some helpful bits for modern ships, do like to replace plastic “blob” radars if and as necessary 🤓 They should be here by the end of the week ... hopefully ! 🙏

Thanks Fellers
@ Bucky.. Thanks - plenty more where they came from too, I’ve been building WW2 ships on and off (more off than on, truth be told) and ignoring the post war ships, which have grown from 2 or 3 kits initially, to the rather large number I have now. Its about time that pile was reduced somewhat methinks 🤔
@ Joe - The brass from the 4 resin kits has Humbrol 64 light grey enamel drying on it now as a primer, once dry, it’ll find its way onto the ships fairly quickly, all levels are preinstalled in the kit as it comes... There could be some vile imprecations muttered whilst winkling teeny lengths of rail into place under overhanging levels etc - that’s cussin’ territory that is ! 🤬 Cussin’ doesn’t help a jot, but it really does make ya feel better ! 😲
Regards OB 😉 (blocking my ears so I don’t hear the vile things I may say ! )

Hmmm... a quick look around at projects on the go reveals 2 35th scale tanks a-building and 5 finished, painted and needing weathering and final touches, 4 72nd tanks a-building, with 5 more finished, painted, needing decals, weathering and final touches, 2 72nd Aircraft, one (Me-262),needing decals and final touches, the other (MiG 1.44) still a-building, plus no less than 10 small ships a-building (the other 3 are WW2 and have been on the ways for quite some time, being worked on as and when the whim to do so took me... which all adds up to...
A Dilemma ! 😲🤭
The desk (when I can find it, under all the half built/finished kits), is configured for aircraft/AFV mode (the ship specific tools are stowed away safely)... So...
I’m going to sort the 35th and 72nd AFV’s that only need weathering and get the decals on the 262 today and get them off the line (pics tomorrow) and get the decals on and weathering started (blackwash mit Abteilung 502 black) on the other AFV’s in both scales and see if I can’t git some more dun on the MiG... Then I’ll resume construction on the 35th KV-2, which shouldn’t take long to get finished to the paint stage.
THEN (tomorrow in all likelihood), I’ll reconfig the desk for ship mode and see if I can’t get the 3 WW2 ships a lot further along the line than they are and keep going on the 7 ships I started and git em done, replacing them on the line as they get finished.
I’ve been meaning to get back to shipbuilding for some time now !
Please excuse moi, I have a rather busy day ahead ! But first a cup of coffee...

Thanks a bunch
Panther’s now Dun (pix tomorrow) and the 72nd Panzer 2D and Befehls 35(T) have got their Panzer Grey paint on overall
My General Purpose airbrush has had some good exercise and a (long overdue) pulldown and cleanup (poor thing probably doesn’t know quite what hit it !)
Anyhow.. Going back in there shortly to give the Panther and the 262 their final touches (do ya reckon they’ll scream if I touch them there again ? 🤭) 😉🤔
but first, as always... yup - you guessed it !

Good thought, but I’m stopping for lunch now, its just gone 1:15 in the pm out here, so quite some time since me brekky... 🙄
As for what’s been dun since I last stopped, well, I’ve painted the tracks on the 35th Matilda and Churchill, hit Hyper Scooby Scale and found the article where James Blackwell detailed the “no oil wash” weathering technique he showed me a long time before he wrote that article, I needed to find that because I’d forgotten a rather vital step in the technique (wondered why it hadn’t worked for me last time I tried it ! 😳) which means the unweathered 35ths might just find themselves weathered before close of play tonight 😎
Also dun a fair bit more on the MiG, it looks rather like the below now
Should be ready for paint n finishing tomorrow I reckon... Now then, what’s next 🤔 ?
Lunch of course, plus the inevitable

Sorry sir, was on a break ! 🤫
No stopping me when I get me finger out eh ? 😲🤭
Nothing further to report sir ! I’ll get back to it later, got a lot more dun today than anticipated and will probably get more dun before close of play
Regards to All OB 😉 (resting on my laurels quite comfortably 😴 )

Whoa ! 😆
That worked out better than expected ! 😎
The “no oil wash” method of weathering worked quite well for me, that’ll be 3 35th scale tanks for piccys tomorrow, if the weather co-operates, its a tad overcast and gusty with occasional showers at unpredictable intervals out here at present, so hopefully, that’ll clear off overnight and we’ll get a nice day tomorrow and I can take pics of the Panther, KV-1 mit Ekranami and SMK for you to lau... err..ummm... giggle at ! 😁
Might even try to get the Matilda and Churchill dun (on second thought, maybe not, don’t want to ride my luck that hard !) 🤔
I’m way ahead of where I thought I’d be by close of play today and still going. Stopping now for a much needed
and to ponder what I’ll have for me dinner (not yet, but its nice thinking about what yummy nosh I’ve got in the fridge awaiting my attention after and while its cooked !
Regards to All OB 😉

Forget the coffee mug, just hook up an I.V. needle! It'll save time for more building and finishing!
Looking forward to seeing pics, I hope the weather holds for you.
