MiG cockpit assembled and basic paint on, now waiting for it and the instrument panel to dry before applying instrument etc; decals and final painting assembly. Also painted inside of forward fuselage where cockpit goes... This was done some time ago, then an unexpected visitor arrived, suspending play... Have now got rid of said visitor (quite politely - twas one of my little bugg err.. brothers 🤭, no real biggy, nice to see him, but also nice to see him leave afterward (without needing a subtle hint/push/outburst of vitriolic language from me 😉   Play resumes shortly, just going to have some lunch before I faint from lack of food ! 🍔🍔🍔🍔🍔🍔🍔🍔🍔🍔🍔 and not forgetting the chips 🍟 just a little serve of chips, I’m on a diet (I still dunno what colour I’m going to dye it ... 😖) Regards to all OB 😉 |

Speaking of “Oh booger” moments, somehow I’ve managed to unearth another 6 aircraft and put em on the build pile. 🤔 That wasn’t meant to happen, I was looking for a certain 35th Tank (all together now... OH BOOGER !) 😖. Trying to think of a way to make this lil development all Joe’s fault ! Goshdang it ! Muttermuttermuttermutter.. 🤬
Well... I guess I’ll have to build the wingy things now, I am NOT going to exhume the box they came out of and put them back in it for anybody... So perishes another noble aspiration in the flames of wanton, unmitigated, desire (I’ve been “wanton” to build those 6 for quite a while now anyway 🧐)
Does anybody mind if I errr... build a few airey-oh-planes ? 😖

Dearest Anne me name is El Speedy Feengers and I am addicted to plastic... I can't seem to open a box without it leading to many more in succession.. then the next thing I know I'm running down a rabbit trail in another direction with wild abandon... me friends and family avoid me cause paint and glue are always flying around... infact I glued me blasted chips to me hand yesterday during lunch when I accidentally dipped them in the glue pot instead of me sauce bowl... please send help... at the very least some glue debonder... this wasn't easy to write with chips glued on me hands and face... me cat won't quit licking me with his wee little sandpaper tongue... oh the humanity of it all... HELP!!!

Excellent update so far. I'm glad you found the canopy to the 262. I for one don't mind you building more planes; I love seeing planes. I want to get that MiG you're working on too someday. Anyway, keep them coming when you wake up. This is getting fun.

Err... Owing to a large amount of household chores not dun this week, I’m afraid its going to be a no styrene day today... Being single again means everything has to be done by oneself... I need to do the dishes, cos I’ve run out of plates and cutlery, the floor needs to be swept (cos in places ya can’t see it for styrene shavings etc; ) I also need to do some shopping for silly things like food (hey I gotta eat ya know !) I also need another catering can of Coffee (it doesn’t last long around me ! ☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️ ) 😲
I might get the markings onto the 262 later in the day (I did say might !) otherwise its going to be a styrene free day. Never mind, it’ll only make me git going tomorrow to satisfy my hopeless addiction to styrene 😲

Err hate to admit it but yer right, oh exalted one 😁At last a font size I can see 😉 - When in doubt about wot yew writ, play with the font size, it saves squinting ! 🧐 ) Nah then (after a play with the font face too !) I did some thunking and put the 6 other aircraft (actually it was 9, but I wasn’t counting !) back into the box from whence they came, I will finish the 262 and the MiG I started yesterday, they’re proving to be a rather nice diversion). I then went looking for something else to build and (watching a doco at present on something WW2) my eyes lit on a certain set of shelves, ... 🤔  Plus the overflow areas associated with them (overflow is mainly post war subjects  Then, a friend arrived with a box for me (he acts as my postal addy, cos I don’t have a street frontage), which contained the following items     The mate who sent that lot said there’s another load like that headed my way shortly... He’s an eBay seller, who lets me know via photos of kits he’s about to post - if I want anything from the photos, I let him know and he fires it my way for whatever he paid for it, (usually nit much, he buys collections from ebay Japan)... In this case, he’s getting rid of a huge pile of 700th ships, to make room for kits that will sell quicker than ship kits do, so a purely nominal sum changed hands (way less than $100 Aud) and I became the owner of this lot, plus the next lot to come ! 😲😆 So I reckon I’ll have to build a few of these, just to make room for what’s to come ! That doco I’m watching is about WW2 at sea... and yes it relit my Martime mojo bigtime. I’ll letcha know what I decide to build in due course 😆 Regards to all OB 😉

First 3 are on the slipways...
All Russki, all Pit Road, believe Dragon have and has improved the moulds now (deffo the Udaloy and Sovremenny, unsure on the Krivak) I have two of each in Pit Road boxings and there’s two kits in the Krivak box, so one of each will do for now. That’s as far as these are going for the moment, going to sort the 262’s markings and get a bit more done on the MiG.

Its the easiest bit anyway, gluing the waterline plates and foredeck pieces on...
Starts getting gnarly from here though... there’ll be etched brass flying as soon as the decks are painted and dry ! 😖

Its amazing to walk her decks, even with a broken knee at the time... over and through bulkheads and ladders where not fun but I survived!!! Good thing I didn't know it was broken at the time, just had lots of pain but the awe of all the history around me kept me going brother!!!!
