That certainly sounds like a great way to freshen the batteries indeed. Enjoy the walk. I'm hoping to get back to my bench soon myself.

I’ve spent a couple more hours on the D today.. this is where she’s at now, only needs her turret assembled
Then spent the last hour on the soul-destroying task of freeing 92 indy links from the sprues and then trimming the 4 attachment nubs off each one - aaarrrggghh ! 🤯🤬
Stopping for a rest, have some dinner and a cuppa coffe before I go back in there and repeat the track de-spruing for the other side (another 92 links !) Its driving me stark raving SANE I tell you ! If I survive that in any fit state, I’ll graciously allow myself to assemble the turret as a reward. With the exception of the tracks, its been a benign little build, no dramas whatsoever !
Regards to All OB of time off 😉

I’ll have to do just that... I couldn’t face another 92 links last night, so watched something archaeological I’d recorded on the tube instead 🤫🤓
Which means I’ve got that lot to do today 🤬🤯😖
Best Regards OB of frantically thinking of excuses/other things to do 😉

And once again, I'm reminded of one reason why I stay in 1/72 scale... Then again, your skills far surpass mine so you can do this far better. You da man OB! Looking forward to seeing all those tracks done.

Hi Mark
These links are not the tiniest I’ve worked with, that particular prize for painful-ness goeth to the UM 72nd T-70 and T-80 series of tanks and Flak tanks...
Try these for size !
I’ve built almost all of them thus far, just a couple to go now... and they do go together nicely too ! IBG’s Bren Carriers in 72nd reputedly have indy link tracks as well - I don’t know for sure, I’ve never seen the kits !😖🤬🤯
Regards OB of looking for the bright side 😉

Ok ... All links now off sprues and cleaned up 🤯🤬🤭
One side of the D now looks thus
I’ll do the other side in a couple of hours, going to let this lot solidify first !
Regards OB of that wasn’t so bad after all 😉

Beautiful job OB. Nicely done. And yes, I've had to deal with those tiny tracks from UM before, but at least those also have long runs of solid track. Looking forward to seeing your mystery model.

Cheers Folks !
RL Thanks for dropping by, didn’t come up too badly at all, hopefully will git her painted in the next couple of days.
Robbo Panzer Grey overall, AFIAK, the Ausf D’s didn’t get to Africa
Duke These links weren’t so bad, there’s some rather finely moulded links in a Hobby Boss FlakPanzer 1 kit here that could be problematic, only slightly smaller sizewise, but moulded a lot thinner, not particularly looking forward to playing with them !
As for my next victim, it’ll be one of these, whichever one I choose, the other will follow it on the line. Only addition I’m thinking of making is a turned 20mm barrel and flash arrestor to replace the over-fed and too widely flared parts in the Italeri kit
Regards to All OB of mystery solved 😉

I’ve had a little fright with the Nashorn.. the main part of the gun barrel, between the breech and muzzle brake is a one piece moulding, labelled D-32 in the destructions... Problem is there’s no part that even looks like it on the D sprue or any other sprue in the kit - eek ! 🤯😖🤬
Some rather rude thoughts ensued as I removed all the (still bagged), sprues from the box, just in case it had broken free, escaped the bag and was loose in the box somewhere... it wasn’t 🥺🤔🤬🤭
Then my eyes caught a little reflection of a shine from the corner of a bagged sprue - there was part D-32, bagged separately, stapled to the side of the box ! - Whew ! 😆😎
Regards OB of breathing normally again ! 😉

Hi Folks
Sorry for the “radio silence” bushfire smoke has been making its presence felt hereabouts, spending most days coughing my head off (especially if model paint or glue are involved !) The fire concerned is 95km to the west of here, burning on a wide front but is not of any danger to anybody in this location.
I’m fast approaching the works shutdown period (usually from my burpday (its the big six-oh for me next week if anybody’s remotely interested) and my late, lovely blonde partner’s burpday on the 26th of January, between both dates, nothing styrene is touched.
That won’t actually be happening this year, owing to the 6 or so months of sorting out etc in the wake of my lovely partner’s death in July last year. I’ll instead sort out and finish a lot of projects started and then shelved as I lost interest or became distracted by something else in the wake of my partner’s death. Therefore, the Tamiya Nashorn and the Italeri Flak Halftrack will be started in the new year AFTER I’ve finished the rather high (almost embarrassing 😳!) number of unfinished projects (mainly 35th vehicles) started in the period before I moved up here in May this year.
Hope that doesn’t upset anybody, but I profit by a nice amount of room for more stash (or for the existing stash to spread out 😖) if I can clear the unfinished projects area !
Regards to All OB 😉 (coughing... again ! 🤬)

I hope the fires get put down soon. Happy Burpday to you too. Take your time getting back to things, but I'm glad you're getting the unfinished ones sorted out and ready to complete. Looking forward to another fine parade of finished models soon.
