Thanks gents Started the halftrack Fit is so-so but largely well done, I plan to model this hood open 'cause they give you a pretty spiffy Maybach HL 85 TURKM but fail to include a radiator. As can be seen above, this is quite noticeable and not to the good. So, whaddya do when the bonehead model makers do not give you a radiator? Ya make yer own. It won't be very detailed but it's gonna be dark in there and radiators are black so just the basic shape should do. Regards, Mark

Cheers gents Track time. Of all the indy workable tracks I've fiddled with these are the second easiest to work with, only being eclipsed by AFV Club's Patton and M1 offerings. That being said, prepare to get up close and fiddly. I did make up a simple jig for assembly, and it went much better when I started using fingers instead of tweezers for the track pads The engine mostly done. I added a bit of piping but these units were quite simple; not much wiring or piping on them. I also ignored the lower part as it will only be seen from the top when installed. Base painted frame, the radiator in the background. I'd intended to mount the radiator in the frame but there was insufficent room for it so it'll go on the lower hull floor. There's no doubt in my mind that more cutting and fitting will be needed on it. Regards, Mark

Thanks gents Fit's not the best in the Trumpy halftrack; three glue and clamp stages were needed to get the lower hull to the frame. The hull halves are gonna be dismal I can already see but I got lotsa green putty which ought to ease the pain. Engine installed with radiator and lower bulkhead And what you're gonna see of it. I wonder why I bother sometimes Regards, Mark

Well, at least you know it's there. It would prolly bug me if I didn't dress up some of the hidden parts in my builds. What you have here is looking good!

Looking mighty fine to me... I built one of these many moons ago when I was a teen and don't remember fit problems but of course back then I didn't really care as much about such things, ha, ha!!!

Anthony I don't think I'd want to be in a cruiser tank even if the opposition only had bolt rifles Interior builds up pretty quick without too many mousetraps I'd do some superdetailing but I don't know what the insides of these things looked like, other than the Poles who drug one of these out of the Vistula river and rebuilt it I'm not sure anyone does Regards, Mark

Thanks blokes Welcome Ski Some detail painting and light weathering. I'll weather the interior no more since I'm under the impression that these were not in service long. OK some dirt perhaps, and I'll need to oil wash the seat slats. The instrument panel decal shifted under application and enough Mirco Sol to get it to settle down This does not overly distress me because What does distress me is PE only options for the fender braces. I hate PE with the intensity of the sun and the braces provided are just about impossible to fold keeping the needed sharp corners so into the garbage bucket they went with a vigorus string of curses. My answer to PE So far the PE debacle is the only real gripe I have with this kit Regards, Mark
