Well its far enough into the New Year for a lazy booger like me to git going again I reckon... new glasses means I can see to play wiv ships (always my first love modelling-wise), so 'ere we goes...
On the desk atmo, we gots the following
Top to bottom all in 1/700th, all WWII Royal Navy IBG's Hunt class 2 Destroyer Escort HMS Badsworth - needs a tad more brass and finishing AJM Resin B class Destroyer HMS Basilisk Niko Resin D class Destrpyer HMS Daring IBG's G class Destroyer ORP Garland (ex HMS Garland) ORP = Okraty Republika Polski (Navy of the Republic of Poland) ie a Polish crewed ship. IBG's I class Destroyer HMS Ithuriel Flyhawk's L class Destroyer HMS Lance Tamiya's O class Destroyer HMS Oribi.. needs brass and other "swear inducing distractions"
All will be finished "As Box" with brass and stretched sprue "complications" as I feel like it !
Regards OB of Eye Strain 😉

Hi Joe - So am I - although they got the polycarbonate lenses, they still look like the lenses ware made from the bottoms of the old fluted glass Coke bottles for plastic lenses, they're heavy as... The cataracts are still there and biting too, so its magnifying lamps to the fore on the desk I'm afeared...🤬
Ah well, its all part of the game, 700th and 350th ships are all I'm doing (and all I got in the stash too !) from now on, following my finally taking the decision and ridding myself of the unmitigated bugbear of everything to do with 72nd Armour and Aircraft, thus gaining a lot of space where the stash and boxes of completed kits in that ☠️☠️☠️ scale were 🤬😈 I also swapped a lot of unbuilt 72nd tanks for a goodly pile of 350th scale Destroyers and Cruisers too, I'd rather they went somewhere they'd be built eventually, as did the other feller involved, who once owned the 350ths I now have.
Maritime all the way for me from now on, I learned to build kits with my Dad, who had a love of warships, and who'd assemble the hulls and maindecks and then supervise a 5 year old moi assembling all the little bits - RIP Dad.
@Bucky Hi Matey - its the only way I'm coming back, nuttin' wrong with being all at sea after all ! 😖
Regards OB of Busy assembling piles of SHIP ! 🥸😉

Seems like going larger, would be better than smaller.

Cheers Folks 👍
Bruce - I've just finished 2 350ths for a friend, so decided to dive into 700ths, my new glasses and a good sized desk magnifier make it easier to see and concentrate on the things.. I should have new glasses every 2 years, but with the move and all, somehow that went by the board this time and at 5 years, my old glasses were way past their expiry date.😗🎵🎶
Mark - Keep watching this space matey - there's plenty of options for me to choose from in the WW2, WW1, pre Dreadnaught and Modern areas for warships, I've been grabbing the occasional 2 or 3 ship kits for years, both injection moulded and resin. Its about time I got round to building the lil blighters. 😃
Regards OB of its 8:18 in the AM hereabouts, too early for glue inhalation, but coffee inhalation is a rather different matter... ☕️☕️😉

Pardon mon Captain ? 🤔
Coffee fumes might be easy to inhale and appreciate, but they’re totally useless for sticking model parts together ! 😖

Oh Fie. Phooey and Fiddlesticks 🤯...
Found my sooperdooper glue, got the fore and aft decks, plus the bridges and stacks onto the B and C class Destroyers( the resinacious kits), then discovered I was out Dark Grey (ie deck) paint ! 🤬☠️👿💩 Oh the language that discovery caused.! Luckily tis payday tomorrow, so an expedition to the nearest LHS is arrangeable (its 50 Km away !) and the paint locker can be refilled...
I'm going to grab an early lunch, then return and do some more on a couple of larger maritime projects, plenty to do, finding time in which to do it can be the hard part... As luck would have it, the Supervisor is working all week, only see her at weekends (one of the benefits of maintaining seperate establishments !). I don't have to put up wiv 'er bad moods if she's had "one of those days" at work ! 😉😗🎵🎶
Regards OB of keepin' Busy 😉
