Latest update for yall on this never ending 1:1 build, lol. The corner sink cabinet is at a 45* angle making for some challenging miter work, but it all came out splendidly, to me anyway, HA!
The fun part will be making the main base cabinet pull flush against this corner cabinet. I will leave a 1/4" wiggle room on the face frame stile for an on scene trimming if necessary since I can't actually line both cabs up in the shop. The floor is the shop in not perfectly level and my bench isn't big enough for both units. However, I may build the toe kick frame and level that, then put both these cabs in place for a test fit before lugging them into the house. I'm thinking of using 3/4" Birch ply, doubled up, for the toe kick frame. It will be much easier to get the exact dimensions and level the entire toe kick unit as one long 11'x25" unit, on the shop floor, rather than in the kitchen.
Much more to come and tanks for watchin. Cheers, Ski.

Tanks you two. I was just pondering the logistical nightmare coming with the flooring, as in the need to remove 1/4" OSB that is glued down in half the area to avoid the elevation issues that would arise later when encountering the carpet areas and linoleum. My curio cabinet is not exactly a light piece of furniture.
Ok, sooooo............can someone please remind me "why" I started this project in the first place?

The base cabinet is done, minus the tung oil, but I had to get the toe kick frame built so I can match up to the corner cabinet in the shop long before I start tearing out the old cabinets. This is goona be a hoot. I need everything ready for a quick "slap and dap" so my Boss doesn't have any serious down time, lol.
The toe kick frame took a full 10hrs to build. Double 3/4" Birch ply with rustic hickory on the face. Now, if I can get this frame level on the deck and get both cabs to match as they are right now, in theory it should all be good when installing, right??? Let's hope so, i'll keep you posted.
Yes, the frame was built on top of the cabinets for accuracy. This weekend I'll do the test fit, but I did leave 1/8" extra on the main cab for trim to fit, if necessary. Once this puppy is done I'll get after the island cabinet. That is going to involve a lot more prep due to gas line and venting installation.
So far, this 1:1 scale build has been a hoot, but I sure do miss my lil paint brushes, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaa........................HA!
Cheer for now, Ski.
