Yo Joe, sorry for the delay. The internal sheets are standard birch 3/4, (pre-finished), the outside is 3/4 hickory veneer sheets from, of all places,..... Vietnam. Now, I don't know about you, but I don't recon hickory grows well in the rain forest, lol. They are some beautiful sheets though, excellent patterns despite the footballs or filler holes.
Rich, thanks Amigo!
P.S. Worked the drawers today, got it dialed in, so I should get a lot done tomorrow. Them sliders are a dream, sweet, smooth operation. Moma gonna be happy!

Thanks Jed. If you do an inet search there appears to be a lot of folks installing rustic woods to their kitchens. Then, of course, you have the plastic modern looks and everything in betwixt. Personal preference takes front and center. But, up chere in the boonies, a techno plastic kitchen ain't gonna cut it, lol.

Steve I have American relatives and all of there furniture although wood just seems to be dark stained,my brother in-law has just renovated a house in Arizona and all of his new furniture is dark!! I've never understood the like for it but yes personal preferences

I know whatcha mean Jed, dark ain't my gig either. For me, unless it's done in a high dollar fashion, the dark stains drown out the true effect of the old colonial style dark stains as intended. Ceiling beams, etc, look great in dark stain as does wainscot paneling, but not kitchen cabinets, IMHO.

Been a busy few weeks, but the main pantry cab is done. Building the drawers for this beast was not too difficult, but the edge banding was time consuming. After jostling with the drawer dimensions to accommodate the sliders it went rather quickly. Ya gotta remember, I'm a "wood butcher", and fine details and craftsmanship are certainly required when building a barn or adding a roof, but building cabinets so they don't look like Big Box chain store garbage takes some serious pre-planning, lol. So far, my scrap bin has stayed light, not too many boofs, but every now and then I cut it three times and it's still too short, go figure, HA! Na, I'm taking my time, it's still bloomin cold in the shop and there's still snow on the ground. I'll start sweating it come April when crunch time arrives.
Ok, this is 30" deep and the Mrs. requested two extra drawers, so she should be good to go.
Close up pics show the edge banding on the plywood spacers for the sliders. Yes, each and every one of them that had any possibility of being seen had to be banded. Oh, a sharp trimmer is always a must, avoids the tear outs.
Time for the smaller cab above the refer. The box is built, just need to mill the face frame and door material and get er done. Tanks for watchin my 1:1 scale build. Ya know, making this whole get up could be much faster and easier if it were, say, 1/35 for 1/16th scale. I may run that by my new Boss, but I don't think she'll buy it, HA!
Cheers, Ski.
