The 6A got a 3rd, nothing for the 6C, but a lot of people took pics of both. I got talked into entering the 6D in the "mechanicals" category as this region had no class for "theoretical" armor, and it didn't place either. I should have gone ahead and put it in the regular "post 1945" class with the other two, my bad there, and that's not because I think it may have placed, just that it may have been seen for what it is, an ambitious conversion.
I had a fine time doing some socializing, talking techniques with people, discussing models, all that geek stuff, and generally enjoying myself. Oh, and the vendors. I went way over budget, brought back five kits, some AM and a lot of books.
I try not to be a trophy hound but I find myself getting a little tweaked sometimes when obviously incorrect accessories or equipment, or floating stowage, well painted, is on a "winning" model. I suppose that's why I prefer the AMPS system, one where feedback is given and the degree of difficulty is part of the judging criteria.
Sorry for the rant, I really enjoy IPMS shows and will continue to go. And when I actually make time to participate and still have a problem, I'll be able to constructively give input.... maybe.
