I'm absolutely in!!! Did the kit have all those figures in it? It has Buckybro, over 20 pretty well detailed figures and loads of equipment.

OK guys, let's start with this : Higgins boats were for 80% made of wood, something I didn't know. The boat was given extra protection for the men inside. On both sides three steel plates were riveted on. ONLY for reference purposes ! This is where 'll start from, making a steel structure on the plates and carving woodgrain effects on the wood parts of the body. I'll put on new rivets too. Tomorrow the first action pics.

This is excellent! I'm in to watch this.
I had a friend of mine who rode in these during WWII and he hated them! He said that Higgins should have been shot for designing that tub. LOL! He said they rolled and rocked so much that everyone got sick; sometimes they were afraid they would roll over! That is one reason the top brass was so reluctant to go in such high seas states; too many high waves and these would roll over. Believe it or not; the armor plating made these somewhat top-heavy, especially with the way the underside was designed.
They got the job done though.

Very true Mark they would roll terribly from what I have read from books on the Pacific war zones...
