And some more for me. Nancy & I spent a few days down in Ashland last week to see Much Ado About Nothing and Macbeth at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. If there's ever one (or more) of the Bard's plays that you've wanted to see live on stage, this is the place to do it. Their lineup changes every year, so it pays to make note of when the new season's offerings are announced. Anyway, on the way home I stopped in Roseburg to visit Mac's Tracks, a little mom & pop train store downtown. I spent a bunch there on a layout design book (which has me re-thinking priorities), magazines, and rolling stock. These came home with me: The POTB and S&NC boxcars are ready to run, save for a few detail bits to be added to the Tillamook car. Both will get some serious weathering eventually. The two Kadee cars are kits to build, and quite nice ones, too. The 50' PS-1 boxcar was used by many roads, so painting & marking that one is just a matter of obtaining a suitable decal sheet.

A couple of years ago I bought an Airfix 1/48 scale Mosquito PR.XVI kit at Heritagecon. The box still had its factory seals intact. I opened it up when I got home and the bags were all still sealed as well. I opened them up to check out the sprues (lots of them - almost enough parts to build two aircraft!) and lo and behold, it was missing an engine nacelle half for the version I wanted to build. Major let down. 😪 Recently I was checking out Wings & Wheels website to see what they had to offer, and there it was; another kit like the one I had. Being on a fixed income, it was more than I could afford. That's where my wonderful son stepped in and purchased it for me! We ordered it on Sunday, it was shipped on Tuesday and in my mailbox Wednesday morning. When I unpacked it, I was pleasantly surprised. It was an older release that included the USAAF markings that I was figuring I would have to buy from an aftermarket source. I checked and all parts were present. Both kits contain parts to build even more versions than are named on the boxes so now I can build a reconnaissance and a fighter bomber version! First time I won't be annoyed with having multiple Mosquitoes in the house!

Those are very cool!! I'm on board for these being built! A build thread for these airships would be great, too!!

About three weeks ago, I finished a house painting job that netted me three large so I decided to celebrate by catching up on models I'd been wanting to buy for awhile. First, I ordered these from BNA Model World since they were the only ones to have some of these: Three Academy Abrams. One will be made US Marine, the other Egyptian and the third Australian since this kit came with all three marking options: Riich Models Paladin I will make Israeli: Trumpeter Russian MLRS on the Uragan truck: Trumpeter Canadian Leopard 2A6M: Hobby Boss German Artilleriewagen: And finally, this Trumpeter American LaFrance Fire Pumper: Later on, I had to go get some medical tests done and Tony's Hobbies and Toys was right next store. More 'celebrating happened after my doctor visit: First some more glue and supplies since I've been going through all this like water through a sieve: Next I found these Japanese troops with a howitzer and realized these had been on my list for awhile to get so I bought them: Another model I had been wanting: I got this because it had wheels; the other kit I already had in the stash had only skis: And this last one was just unique enough that I had to get it: And that's all I have until my blacksmith shop comes in. I may even buy more when I get paid for these next two jobs....

I worked on those things for around 7 years and have a soft spot for them. SUPER haul across the board and you're going to have to let me know when you get a build thread going for that M109

Thank you guys I'm glad I have something to keep me going through the holidays.
Mustang Joe, you'll be able to see that 109 in my Maddog Manufacturing thread when it comes time to start that. As I recall, there's a Desert/Sand Group Build starting up that this will be a part of.

I was wondering the same thing? Group builds here seemed to be mostly me alone as almost everyone would back out or not finish. But you did eventually finish the Coke Model T group build, lol!

Mustang Joe that was a Group Build proposed on the Modeler's Haven Online. I will still include it as part of my regular Manufacturing Thread as well so it should be in all those threads scattered around various Fora.
That is true Joe Con, and I am sorry it took so long and that I haven't participated in more of them here. Most of them proposed here are subjects I have already built many times over or they are subjects I don't build.
Oh, and for Mustang Joe: the Balcksmith shop arrives and I already started it:
Pics of progress on that shop will be in the next tour.....

No apology needed Mark, it was just an observation as to the follow through on group builds in general both here and on Farcebook as well as other sites. You did finish yours! LOL!!!
