New to the war room are these: The paints are needed for the Neptune, the Hemet Valley S2, a P-51B air racer, and anything from the WW2 era that used Interior Green for those areas. Gradually these paints will replace my vast Model Master stash as those are depleted. The B-25 will be another air tanker. Sometime in the next three weeks or so I am expecting a box from Lone Star Models in Texas, which will have retardant tanks for the F7F Tigercat, a different S2 tank configuration, a B-25 tank with a decal sheet (which I hope has a painting guide, too), and a decal sheet for an A-26 Invader air tanker.

Nice supplies and kit! I switched to Tamiya acrylic when MM went away... I'm glad I did!

Yes, Joe, those are enamels. I've dabbled with acrylics but never been happy working with them. I understand that Tamiya is great, but their color range is too limited IMO. When a new enamel producer popped up, I jumped at it.
The Mitchell looks typically Hasegawa-lovely in the box. The only shortcoming I see on initial examination is that they rely on using a little crew boarding ladder at the back to hold up the tail. Naturally I won't use that and have to figure out where to shove lead into the front fuselage.

I don't mind mixing the Tamiya Paints to get what I want.

Yeah, I mix when I have to, like on the Clay Lacy Mustang. But that's something that makes me nervous; there's always touch-up to do and that means mixing more paint and I might not get the proportions just right a second time. I've always preferred to have several dozen bottles available in just about any color I might need. Just a quirk of mine, I guess.

While I was down the model railroad rabbit hole last week, a box arrived from Lonestar Models in Texas. This is what was inside: Resin 1,000-gallon retardant tank for the F7F Tigercat. I needs a little fettling, but not too much. Resin tank for the B-25 with decals & instructions. Another style tank for an S2 Tracker. Not sure I needed this, but Lonestar has a $50 minimum order so I added it on spec. Red Gecko decal sheet #2. I ordered this for the red/white A-26 at top left; it operated out of Medford. Also markings for a T-28 and several more Tigercat choices to go with the DRAW decals I already have, so I've got some choices. I didn't expect to see more Tigercat options; the website shows the top sheet with Invaders & the Trojan. All of the above was what I ordered. They also sent me a bonus, Red Gecko decal sheet #1: This has markings for Cal Fire OV-10 Broncos, a Cal Fire S2 that uses the tank that I bought to meet the minimum order, and markings for a couple of TBMs.

I have gotten some stuff recently Bulk resupply of micro drills Dspaie saw to add to my tools Took a friend to a hobby shop some distance away, while he was happily browsing the shelves, I spied this and in a delusional moment of optimism that I would not hate my life if I bought a Roden kit, I did indeed purchase this. I was wrong Got this cool kit, very interesting little vehicle, a lot of possibilities for painting and display. These were used from the 1930's till the 1990's. And a couple I preordered last year.

Received this as a commission for an old army pal of mine, I will be copying as near as possible the vehicle he drove in the 1st Gulf War. Unfortunately he doesn’t have any picture from back then and neither do any of my contacts from the Battalion we served with. Questions have been going back and forth!!

I am looking forward to getting one of those and the Gannet but so far they have not really shown up over here yet I will be very interested in seeing your build when you get to it.

This lot turned up yesterday
The Takom Tigers are the same kits as are in the "Big Box" Ernie scored, minus the 16th scale figure of Herr Carius, The Big Box was only available out here via pre-order and quite a few people I know who did pre-order the box set missed out, because Takom didn't supply the full pre-order numbers to the shops who ordered them... I didn't pre-order, I'd heard that the kits would be available seperately for only slightly more than the box set cost ($180 for the set, $195 for the kits seperately - all prices quoted are in Aussie dollars)
The Border Hummels got dropped into the thing to get it well into the Free Post range (and cos I like Hummels !)
I'm now waiting for that Das Werk 88mm on the Vomag Bus chassis that Ernie also showed amongst his grabs to be available out here, as well as a few Dragon Hannomag Ausf D variations they've reissued... watch this space, none of them are too far away from my fave online emporium's shelves.
Best M of WW 😉🙃
