Gomez, this is a very welcome surprise seeing you posting again this Christmas, and with such amazing work. Take it easy as and when; you work is well worth the wait.

Cheers Duke and Joe 👍
Got bored with being on holidays, so decided to play with some 72nds, just to see if I could see the leetle bits..🤓. I could, using my old bifocals (new glasses ain't bifocal, don't need to be given the way my sight is these days 😵💫) I found myself squinting thru the bifocal part of my old bifocs, then thru a maqgnifying glass held in a multipose (ball/swivel) vice to get the leetle bits into position.. and oh, the language jthus engendered 🤬 !
I can see to paint/airbrush the lil boogers, so that's a plus I guess..
I've got over 2 thousand 72nd aircraft and armour kits (That's how many I counted over a couple of evenings before I got frightened or lost interest 😲 (strike out that wot don't apply)... which were left to me by my late modelling mate. So its looking like this year I'll be building multiple 72nds as best I can (no cheering please ! ) and doing 35ths as eyestrain relief from time to time. Thank goodness my late mate wasn't into 700th ships at all - I can barely see any parts of them, so I'm not interested in them, can't afford to be 😳 ! At least I won't have to buy any kits for awhile 🙄, just paint n glue and other such necessities ...

Cheers Joe 👍
Stay tuned, the MiG-31 and He-162 ain't far away from the finish line - should be up here shortly
Got a few more wingys lined up to play with, after which I might attempt a "kleiner gerblungen"(72nd tank) or two, or I might not - we'll see !

Very nice. I'm glad you had a chance to plan and organize. Who knows? if I can swing you the postage to the United States, maybe you could send a few of those 1/72 scale armor kits to me that you don't want to build.
Just a wild idea generated by spiked eggnog. Don't mind me.

Moving right along, having the day entirely to myself today, for the first time this week (all the festive merriment, dunno why people think it must be christmas or something...🙄)
Broke sprue on a Hobby Boss Me-110D this morning, got it as far as the pic below, before deciding to let the paint in the cockpit and the glue dry for a while.
Alligator clips and tweezers on tailplane are holding it level whilst the glue sets, a "leetle treek" ala Gomez, cos I couldn't be bothered holding it in bored fashion whilst the glue set up. 🤫
About to break sprue on another Messerschmitt of Eduard persuasion shortly, will letcha know wot dat am when there's something to show of it...
But first my caffeine and nicotine deficiencies need to be addressed... ☕️🚬

Following on from the above (roughly 2 hours later)... the 110 is at "airframe complete" stage, all it needs now is its landing gear etc, plus the cockpit "glasshouse" canopy and it'll be paint and decal time...
Also starting out on the line is Eduard's Me 109E profipack, thus far its cockpit innards are built and have had their basic coat of RLM-66 dk Grey... no kit supplied brass used, the kit has plastic parts for use if you don't feel like braving the brass, I'm into building plastic kits - thanks very much !
There's even a very nice all plastic instrument panel with raised detail and a decal sheet included, all very much simpler to use than layering up the (also supplied), 5 part brass and plastic panel. I'll use the plastic panel but probably not the decals, you won't see anything of the panel if you model the thing with its canopy closed (as I've always done in 72nd). 🤫 Here's how it looks for the nonce, with all internal bits painted prior to assembly.
Oh, by the way, these two only need decals, one of em should be decalled and dun tonight, probably the He-162 in the upper part of the pic below. Foxhound's decal job happens somewhere on the morrow, after a touch of paint slinging (Flat black anti-glare panel in front of the cockpit).

Horribly hot and humid out here, under a leaden sky, its starting to smell like rain, so a deluge ain't too far away... it'll cool down whilst the rain's tumbling, but then it'll git hot again and the humidity will rise as the heat evaporates the rain. Only cold place is standing in front of the fridge, whilst grabbing the ice water jug or container of one fizzy beverage or another, alcoholic or not.
I'm in the back room, shirtless, with a fan cooling things down as it passes across my sweaty body, you get sweaty just sitting at the desk putting kits together. Ergh !

As the saying goes "no news is good news"
Well. hope the following rates as good enough... As scheduled, the Hobby Boss He-162 copped its decals last night and went to the shelf, where it was positively dwarfed by the previously finished F-86E it was parked beside..piccys of that later. The MiG-31 Foxhound has copped its anti-glare panel and a couple of paint touchups and will cop its decals and pose for happy snaps later in the day.
Apart from that one small task, I've given myself the day off styrene. I will be getting onto some modelling related tasks later on as well - related to constructiong more shelves for the desk and display areas and sorting out the new desk, which is perched atop a pair of 4 drawer night stands at present... Its quite solid as it stands, but I cannot really get to the drawers in the night stands, I do know how to fix that and will do so, if there's any time left after shelf construction.

Cheers Joe
Got the desk shelves dun, going to give the aircraft shelf additions a miss (got something else that"ll hold that lil' jobby off for the moment, (well, until I can be bothered setting up the bench saw to the width needed and running some 7 or 9mm ply thru it)...
Havinmg a cuppa at present, whilst thunking re a pair of legs for the rear corners of the desk, cut to the same height as the night stands its currently sitting on, meaning I can move the night stands to under the front of the desk, thus enabling their drawers to be used. Think I've got some 3x1" around here somewhere that'll do admirably for that job. After that, another cuppa followed by lunch and it'll be MiG 31 Decal time, giving moi the rest of the day to put me feet up and bludge

Got everything but the MiG's decals dun.
That's for today, plus get the 110's undercart on, ready for the paint shop and then see how close I can get the 109 to the paint shop as well...
Got a Spitfire VIII (Eduard Weekend Edition(no brass) and a Stuka "gunbus" (Italeri) to play with next.
Edit: On second thought, I'm taking the day off today, normal muddlin' activities recommence tomorrow !
