Cheers Mark π
Got the King Tiger and the JagdPanzer IV L/70 (V) weathered today, fairly besplattered with Ardennes style mud...ππ₯±
StuG IV and Pz IV J (early) nearly dun, thinking about my next victims, they'll be something Tamiya and a Takom "Blitz" kit, which (if a previous Takom example is anything to go by), should be as viceless as the previous example, only difference is the tracks and colour scheme...π€

You ain't the only one Joe...life can be a right booger at times...π€¬
All one can do is put up with it and move along as and when... π€―
Hopefully this episode is over, cos I'm fed up with it this time ...π
Got the Panzer IV J and the StuG IV to weather next and a couple of new ones to git started on π€

Meanwhile, back atthe desk...π€
Tamiya JgPz IV (A) is chassis complete, only needs tracks (hard styrene link and length), to finish, not anticipating any trouble with those (its Tamiya after all) π₯±
More later, after the fact (as it were) π

Bit better now methinks π€
Fighting compartment is just sitting there unattached, tracks proved to be a doddle, no dramas whatsoever π
Assembling this one is proving a tad too easy at present, arousing certain of my suspicions, usually, if assembly is as dead easy as this kit has thus far been, there's something in the assembly stages ahead, lurking ready to bite you when and where you least expect it. ππ€―

No teethmarks in me from this jobby (yet !) π
It may yet rear up and bite me though... There's quite a pile of small parts left, all of which are all to do with its mesh skirt armour ("Thoma Schurzen"), and how said skirts are attached to the onboard rails and attachment points π Luckily, the skirts themselves are etched and included in the kit, saving messing around with dragon style nylon mesh skirts, edged with brass (installation of which is a task guaranteed to drive one's sanity away forever π€―)
Will I decide to say "dat's it fer dis baby" and leave the skirts off ? Tamiya supply only the skirt hangers but not the skirts in their new-(ish) JgPz IV L/70 kit, wihich I've just completed, or will I bash on regardless anf git the skirts on the thing ? There is, as always, a third option, which is to start something else - merely to delay the inevitable ! π³π²
Actually, now that I've had time to think about it, delaying the inevitable sounds like the way to go π
What'll I start next ? You'll know just after I do - promise ! π€

After 2 days of prevaricating and excuse making in regard to not playing with the mesh skirts, I decided to have a crack at them,..After all, I've never been bitten by a Tamiya kit, and this particular one had been pretty well viceless thus far so.. out with the superdooper glue and lets see how it goes...π«¨
Stage 1 was easy enough...One set of Mesh skirts sucessfully assembled..π
Stage 2 was fitting them onto the model (not glued here, (will be glued on only after painting)...π€«
Stages 3 and 4 were same again for the other side...That finished the assembly job, so its off to the paint shop on the morrow π
Still unkown as to what my next victim will be, I'll letcha know as soon as I do on the morrow π

Cheers guys π
The mesh does look good and its in the kit as well, no need to buy a brass set to go eith the kit.. its a bit of a faff, but follow the instructions and its a winner for sure, jus go lightly with the superglue is all.
Best Gomez of still wondering what my next project will be ππ

So it will, but it'll be a while yet I'm afeared. π€
I'm having my usual 2 months off this year, starting now.. I do usually go between my burpday on the 26th of this month and the 26th of Jan, my late wife's burpday, This time, I'm just taking the rest of November and all of December off
Back on January 1st or thereabouts with something new, will drop a post in the relevant forum with the Finished and weathered StuG IV, Pz IV J and this booger on it to round off the year.
Catchays all next year - Merry xmas to all in the meantime π
π»
Best Gomez of battery recharging (in more wasys than one !) ππ»

Errrm.. 3 72nd planes fell together recently, just to see if I still could, I could alright, but it didn't spur me to build anymore in baby scale, no dramas to report anywhere on any of them, 10 minute assembly jobs on the MiG and F-86, a day or so on the Fiddler
Hobby boss F-86 Sabre -As box - too easy, a truly viceless kit, with no dramas anywhere...π₯±
Hobby Boss MiG 15 as the Sabre comment wise π₯±
Trumpeter Tu-128 Fiddler took longer to assemble, owing to the larger number of parts involved, again a no dramas kitππ₯±
That concludes this year's adventures in baby scale, I know where to look if I need something to do in "brain off" or "Slam it together" mode, mind you, I always did know about the simplicity of 72 aircraft assembly wise. Its waaaay too easy to assemble a large pile of the lil boogers to a standard of one's choosing in a blink of an eye (I ought to know, having scrapped two collections of 72nd aircraft over the years, both numbering over 1600 aircraft in each of them !) ... I no longer find aircraft in this scale at all challenging. Unfortunately, I have a huge pile of 72nds unbuilt in Aircraft ana Armour, which came to me from my deceased longtime modelling friend's collection. Thry'll have to be built by me (I cannot do anything but build them, my mate left them to me cos he knew I'd build them - the blighter ! π Looks like I'm not done with 72nds yet awhile then...
Seeyas next year

Glad you like em Boss ππ
Here's two more, another (my second), MiG-31 Foxhound, this one will have a rather big lump underneath it when dun and a He-162 VolksJager, just cos I don't have one in this collection, the MiG is Trumpy and was a tad painful with tiny parts to be put in not to well illustrated (in the destructions), places (and they forgot completely to include where the rearmost main gear bay doors attach as well)...π€¬ and the 162 is a Hobby Boss example, which fell together in typical viceless fashion - ho-hum... π΄
MiG-31 (needs filling, sanding and paint) and He-162 (needs markings)
Sod Holidays for a laugh, I'm back now ! You can tell how bored I was by the fact that I went for 72nd planes, which kept me occupied just enough to keep boredom just out of the picture (ie very slightly).. Perusing destructions for a few things atmo, just for a sea change, I'll lead off with whatever I come up with shortly. Not saying what with yet, in case I have to change my mind (or have it changed for me by the lack of size of the parts of the kits involved. My sight is a long way from what it once was unfortunately.
Regards and happy xmas to all Gomez
