Everything but the StuG has its decals on and its roadwheel tyres/top idler wheel tyres painted. Tonight's exercise will be to spray the 3 of them (Jumbo Sherman, Comet and Pz 38(t) with a coat of gloss acrylic varnish (Tamiya or Gunze, whichever I find first)... in preparation for weathering and track painting tomorrow. StuG can wait, it needs some more paint before it gets its markings...🤔
Pics in a day or two, after weathering and a coat of flat Varnish (Gunze) to seal the weathering. Weathering will start with the old style Verlinden "Blackwash" using oil paint and thinners, hence the need to seal them with gloss Acryl varnish first. The oil paint will be either MiG Abteilung or normal Windsor/Newton Lamp Black, whichever I find first... 😆

Here's the 3 in question, about half finished thus far, more weathering (washes etc;) to come, 🙄🥱 At least they're still coming along in slow but steady fashion...
A few touchups amongst the dust ups are necessary and will be dun when I get to the relevant stages 😲

Don't forget the Sherman is a Jumbo, and fatter than a normal Sherman, I'll have to park it alongside a more normal Sherman, when I've built one ! 😖🤫
I'll probably concentrate on the StuG today and try to get it to the same stage as these 3 (or as close thereto as possible)...
Think I'll change the next two victims as well, had enough of StuGs already (And I want to do a twin StuG IV build soon), that'll be Tamiya's old but good early example and Dragon's late job, might even make it a trio by including Academy's recent early StuG IV kit (actually a mid production example).🙄🤔🤫
Next two will now be these, followed by the Stug IV's, unless I decide to build the Dragon kits of these two as well 🤔

.. and the StuG is well on the way to being suitably filthy...
All need final tweaks, touchups and a tad more weathering... but that's where they're at now...🥱
Might start on the Jaggys this evening, after me dinner. 🤔

Word has just reached me that a small package has left with essential supplies for the PanzerFabrik Gomez Amongst the contents are two bottles of my fave dusty colour, necessary for the final dusting of the 4 being worked on, plus (at long last), a set of grilles for the ICM King Tiger, as soon as that care package gets here the 4 only needing final dusting will be finished, the KT will get its engine deck grilles and a few other bits and its final camo and weathering...😆
Meantime, I've been playing about with this li'l item, just to alleviate boredom 🥱 (dat's my excuse and I'm stickin' to it ! ) 🤔
No dramas encountered thus far... Its Tamiya, so why would there be dramas ? 🙄

Tamiya Acryl XF-55 Flat Deck Tan, its also a good fresh concrete colour. I dilute it about 90% with Isopropyl alchohol and build it up in layers, sprayed at about 20psi, been using that for years, its a trick I learned from James Blackwell years ago.

No secrets here (not about airbrush weathering anyway) 😋
This afternoon's entertainment has been playing with this jobby, no probs to report whatever, I do love Tamiya kits ! 😎
Needs a bit more to be complete before painting, but I may start the other one tonight, just so's the glue fumes don't send me to sleep or something 😵💫
