Hmmmm... 🤔 ya know, I forgot I have a deck out the back too ! 😃....

Just did a bit of wiring as it happens (well, I drilled the holes for the wires atop the boards, soldered the wires onto the rails and poked them thru the boards) so the easy bit's dun at least ! 👍

Next step will be to unbolt the two boards most of it happened upon and pull them out individually, clamp em vertically in the workmate and sort out the underside bits - NOT looking forward to that at all, but its the last time it'll have to be dun so.... 😖) The Third board (the one with the reworked curve), copped that treatment late yesterday so can be ignored quite safely ! 😆

Hi Folks.

Sad to say, but all work on the layout (and anything else requiring concentration), has come to a sudden, screeching halt on medical advice.. Managed to ding myself a good one last night when the top of my head came into sudden and violent contact with the bottom left corner of the bathroom cabinet as I straightened up after getting a new roll of loo paper out of the packet. Took me 3 hours to stop the bloody thing bleeding with warm salty water. No sleep last night, huge headaches that nothing I had (some of them quite powerful !) for such things worked in any way.

Went up the doc this morning, already had the appointment for another of my problems). She initially thought I was the victim of somebody trying to die my grey hair pink, until I told her what happened, she took one look and sent me off for a scan, just in case I'd fractured my skull 😲, its not fractured (phew ! 🙂)... She then decided that the scab that had formed wasn't strong enough and so put me through the agonising burns of local anaesthetic injected around the wound🤬, before she removed the scab and put 3 stitches in the wound to hold it together properly, already have the appointment to go and see her in 4 weeks to have the stitches removed... 😖)

Upshot is no playing about with anything requiring concentration, no reading and no more than an hour or so of TV until I get to a stage where I haven't had any sign of a headache for 3 days.. Wanna talk about being sidelined by the damndest things - anybody ?

I still have to go back tomorrow to see her about the problem that today's appointment was originally about - Berluddy heck, I think I've had quite enough of Doctors for the moment ! I know she means well, buuuut ... 🤔

The local has worn off, and the pain ain't nice at all, and the tablets she prescribed might as well be bloody lollies as far as that goes. 🤬

I don't think I've had this kind of pain in years - and I don't need another burst of it now to remind me what the pain was like back then, my memory ain't that bad !

Going to take off now, its hard enough to read wot I just wrote, cos I'm seeing double - sorry for any spulling mistooks, I can't see anything like straight, due to the sodding pain

I'm sooo sorry my friend!!! Wish I was closer by to help you though it! Have you tried ice in a cloth lightly held by it to calm it down a bit?

I've tried many variations of ice, except the highly illegal one (aka meth over your way I believe) no way is that going anywhere near me !

All the ice did was increase the headache I'm afraid. Think I got its number now, found something that I don't like taking, just waiting for the Mersyndol I took to wear off, then I'll try half a tablet of Pethedine, won't help with anything really, but it should take the edge off the pain.... 2 complete tablets every 4 hours is the full adult dose, so half a tablet should work in the limited way I described.

Hate the stuff, because all a full dose of Pethedine does to me is give me bad dose of the chunders (vomits/chucks), nothing else.🤮 Half a tablet might make me nauseous, but I won't chuck, its worth putting up with the nausea if it'll take the edge off the headaches 🤯. Berluddy heck, 🤬 I used to get seriously nasty migraines as a kid, but haven't had anything like that painwise since the last of the migraines many years ago.

Slept rather well last night, fell asleep around 9pm and woke up at 7:30am this morning, headache free, but with my bladder screaming for relief ! Haven't had anything resembling a headache yet (12:45 pm at present), so haven't taken any headache meds... still cannot see (or think !) straight 😈 but at least I'm headache free ! 😃

Taking it very easy as can be imagined !

Yup... only way to go at present. Managed to (carefully !) get a few small details (tool handles and exhaust pipes) brush painted on the 35th Puma done today, before I started seeing double again. Still got a few more tool handles to paint on it yet, plus all the metal bits on the tools, but hey ho, time ain't of the essence on that one (or any of the other styrene UFO's I got ). They'll be dun when they is dun I reckon... 🤔 Might add the last few decals on the two 72nd Late 109's sitting around here somewheres tomorrow, gotta keep me hand in that game too ! Still ain't taken the Mallow's photos yet either ! 😲 All in good time !

Err.... Umm.. Work actually resumed today, took the first baseboard off the layout and wired the new sidings in (having soldered wires to the tracks and poked the wires fru 'oles drilled into the baseboards tops before I dinged my head)... no biggy, then put 4 new legs on it, New legs are 16 inches long, so the layout top is where I wanted it to be. 👍 Lil' kids have to stand on a chair, but so what, its not made for the likes of them (blighters can't keep their hands to themselves and try to crash trains if they get their hands on a controller - who needs 'em ?)  🤯😈

I prefer to look into and across (slightly down upon) a layout, rather than down upon a layout, hence the top of the layout is now 5ft off the floor... No biggy in either case. No headaches or seeing double either ! 😆
