Yup, crushed it is and with all the spindly little roadwheel arms broken off and the hull pretty much squashed there's no saving it. I buy big cans of paint thinner. Not such a big deal as I did not have a lot of time in it. I'll do another one of these but I think I'll spring for the AFV club offering as the Italeri one ain't so hot.
This has been interrupted by life; Dad's not doing over well and much of my time lately has gone into seeing to him. I have been at the bench but I've been working on the Stuart project as it's not as complex as this one

Sorry to hear that Mark. I've sent an Italeri Harley to abyss once before myself. Dang thing kept breaking and after nearly 6 months of work it go the boot, after it took a nose dive off the bench, lol. Luckily I had a spare on the shelf.
Family comes first in this Sport, so see ya when ya get back. No worries.
Cheers, Ski.

We've all had our disasters for sure... learn and move on... I agree family should always take the place for our attention first, the hobby will come later...

I had a flying '57 Chevy model when I was about 11 years. It was a Revell kit, and was too advanced for me at the time. I kept botching things up, and it got flung down the hallway, up against my sister's bedroom door!

I put a car on the bbq and watched it melt into a lump of smelly plastic until it burst into flame...

Thanks gents
Dad's more or less holding his own but this could change swiftly; he's pretty frail these days
Enough of that
The pair again

Don't quite have the dust bowl look down but am cogitating on it. Figures in primer, will take a couple three days to cure completely. This is the time of the big slowdown so to help me resist the urge to proceed before things are ready I started this

Which will shortly get it's own thread as long as I can hang on to the big can of thinner. I'll be hacked off if this occurs, these kits are not easy to get hold of.

Thanks gents
Ski this company, Asuka is Japanese and used to be known as Tasca. They are touted as molding the most accurate OOB Sherman kits in existence, and they make a pretty large selection of the different M-4 models. I am far from an expert on Shermans so the accuracy thing is lost on me but I can say their molding is crisp, lovely, and the fit is largely excellent. On this one the only things I can say about it that are not so hot are they give you two piece main gun barrels and when assembling the turret halves I had to do some filing to fit the lower half to the mantlet. Not bad at all considering some of the horror stories in plastic out there

Yep the barrel is in two halfs but fits together really well, much better than other manufactures. The tracks have nice detail and very flexible but your regular model glue won't work so use Super Glue. The bogies will make you want to pull your hair out, lots of loose parts and not enough hands to hold them in place during assembly. Fit is great and clean up is very easy because the plastic is on the softer side of the scale. Sprue Bros sales the Asuka brand for about $52 and it's a good price for the quality of the Asuka Sherman line up of kits. Go have some fun Mark Tony lee
