Found this on Prime Portal:  Looks like Academy's orientation is wrong, and the direct sight telescope should peer through that little hole in the shield. That makes sense. I wouldn't want to be the unfortunate individual being peered at, knowing that a 6.1" round was soon to be introducing itself. A light-cruiser main battery gun as a sniper weapon... |

Got some goodies in the mailbox today, the conversion set has arrived

First glance sez it's pretty good. There are some incomplete casts, some transit cracks, some warpage and the usual flashy junk to clean up with resin cast parts. All part of the game for those who have not done anything like this. Parts seem to clean up pretty easily; soon we'll see how it is in actual practice

Not gonna waste time on it. I'll cut it off and drill the receiver section out for one of the spare Academy .50 barrels I got laying around. Cleaning up the projectiles and powder cannisters will be far worse
