Jcon The kits arrived the other day. Holy cow. The box is huge. I know of one the markings I'll use....there are 10 markings to chose from. Keith Thank you kindly. I had a lot of fun painting the prop. Jeff Thank you kindly my good man. Bruce Thank you very much. They may have with early props. When they got bigger and more advanced they were laminated, then shaped. Jed Thank you very much Marco Thank you for the high praise. Snipersmudge Thank you kindly for the compliment. Carl Now that's a mondo tree. Nico76mih Thank you very much my good man. Buddho Thank you good sir for the high praise. I got the exhaust manifolds painted and mounted. I airbrushed six different colors, including a metallic on. They all went on in very light layers. The gun, and gun ring received their paint and weathering today as well. The gun was painted with Vallejo Gun Metal and Exhaust manifold metallics. The bungee cord was done using EZ Line Heavy. The rounds are molded in on the underside of the drum magazines. These were painted with AK Brass wax paint. I gave them a dark wash to add depth. These will be visible as the gun will be elevated.

Thank you kindly Keith. I really took a gook look at exhaust stacks similar to this one, and finally realized that the color gradation is very subtle in spots. Especially on the newer engines. I can’t imagine a lot of these birds were long lived.

Wow, is that engine a beauty. The manifold exhaust looks so real, with the graduated heat color changes. The Lewis gun and ring is a whole little masterpiece in its own. This has been so much fun to watch come together.

Good evening all. Jcon Thank you my friend. Buddho Thank you kindly, and I am glad you are enjoying this build. Jeff Thank you very much my good man. Snipersmudge Thank you for the compliments. Carl Thank you good sir for having a gander, and for the compliment. Today I got a bit of rigging and control lines done. It was at a cost.....I snapped off two ailerons, separated three interplane struts and all four cabine struts. It also turns out I snapped off the wind screen. All parts are glued back where they belong. The wind screen showed up on the bench, which is how I knew it was off. It is intact, and will be reattached tomorrow. It was time to walk away from the build for the day. The control lines for the tail feathers are complete. I apologize for the fuzziness of the pic. The digi cam was not focusing where I wanted it to. You get the idea from the pic about the rigging for the underside of the tail feathers.

I am not sure how you can top perfection, but you are doing it.

I hate when stuff snaps off during rigging but it looks like you managed to show it who the boss was!!!

Good morning everyone. Thank you all for your compliments, and concerns. No. The Bristol is NOT going to take flight from the bench. I have too much invested to toss it across the garage....or across the street. I had realized the struts were worse than I thought when I had realized something else was keeping the cabane struts from seating. It was two left inter-plane struts and one right, that had unseated. The error there was not enough glue with the original assembly of the top wing. So I hit them one at a time with thin CA glue and accelerator. As to the ailerons, in hind sight I should have used some fine brass wire to act as "hinges" to reinforce the deflected ailerons. I am very glad for the EZ Line. There were a couple of times yesterday during repairs, that I had noticed I had trapped some control lines with my grasp on the fuselage. No harm. No foul. It is VERY forgiving. More later today.

You got that right Dogfish! The bourbon I had afterwards was a bit more amber colored. Tasty!
