Thanks, Beekster! As for planning things out, I'm not immune to rearranging things in the Hobby Shack. It's already been done a couple times in three years!! LOL

Mine is always changing... more kits, need more shelves... other stuff added to room, rearrange! LOL!!! Added a daybed up here, great for naps or reading when not building, ha, ha, ha!!! Wife has a design wall for her quilting on the other side behind that bed so have to slide the bed into my space so she can use the wall... it works now with the new corner desk! We can both get around the bed when its moved since I moved stuff!!! Challenges with small spaces can be overcome!!!

I spent the day in my woodshop building 5 wall shelves for in the peaks of those walls on both sides... bottoms are painted black, when dry the tops will be painted and then hung on the walls for a bunch of display space!

One item in the Hobby Shack that had been bugging me was this little brush caddy: It might be hard to tell from this pic, but some of the brushes and markers barely come up to the top of the caddy. I would have to dig for them. It caused me to turn the thing over a time or two. Here is my remedy: The good ol' razor saw chopped out about an inch of the three uprights, which lowered the top ring. Now, I don't have to dig for brushes or markers.

The above two photos show the old corner countertop. It is only 18" deep and basically 6 feet by 6 and a half feet. Not big enough for my needs. I had been looking for a new corner type setup, but the budget didn't want to allow it. So, I snagged a nice sheet of plywood from the local store with the orange square sign, cut two feet off, and split it down the middle. Now, I have a work surface that is 24" deep, by six feet, by 6 and a half feet. I just screwed it down to the existing counter. I may splash a little paint on it in the future, but for now, I gotta figure out which pieces of clutter to save, and which ones to toss!

Looks like a simple solution. Don't obsess over the appearance of the tabletop...if you're anything like me, you'll spill paint on it soon enough and eventually it will turn itself into a piece of abstract art organically.

That's what kept me from painting it before I put it down!! LOL One big reason I took up the carpet in the hobby room at the old house was because I spilled about a full bottle of TESTORS brush cleaner that I used exclusively for removing black paint from the brushes. The carpet was a light tan color, except for that pesky black spot!!
