This is the next to hit my bench. Going to make it a Luftwaffe Vehicle on the Eastern Front in Ukraine summer of 1943, broken down on the side of the road... it will eventually get a Black SS Citroën Police vehicle by it to see what is going on. All these parts for a car only 2" wide by 5" long and 4 figures.

The 170V was the car that saved the company in the wake of WW2. The tooling remained intact, and it went into production with a few updates from the pre-war model as soon as the Allies allowed new cars to be produced. As the entry-level model, it was really the only one marketable at the time; no one had money for the more luxurious models. Truck production resumed first as part of the plan to rebuild the country. The amazing Unimog was also developed in the late forties, as a farm implement. What's really astounding is that just ten years after the war the company produced the 300SLR racer, which became the Gullwing & Roadster models. Stunning leap in engineering for a company still rebuilding its shattered factories.

Worked on the engine and some of these pieces are ridiculously small at 1/35th scale!!! I put a 1/25th scale engine next to it and a number 11 xacto knife for scale comparison...

It's a challenge for sure, parts so small I can barely see some of them and with paint I doubt you'll even see them!!!

Brilliant work Joe. As for the tiny engine; I've done the same in 1/72 scale myself so I know how it is. Keep it coming man!

Definitely tweezer work on this little buggy. It's amazing how small this is after working 1/25th, delicate too. Like Jed, at first I thought you were gonna supe up the Mercedes with a V8, HA! Now that would be a secret weapon. Looking good, Joe.
