Am taking a break from the Patton deal, need a simple and uncomplicated (NOT AFV Club) kit to enjoy. Thus, I slunk to my stash cabinet and found this which I got from OgreJohn in a swap awhile back. There's nothing like a Tammy kit for an easy win and pure building enjoyment. What you see below took about six hours from box to this state I'll finish it in Panzer Grey, toss in a couple figures, and put it on a small base as the model is rather tiny. I'll finish the Patton project in time, as things I need become available, and when I bloody well feel like it. I don't seem to have it in me to grind out those long projects these days Regards, Mark

Excellent work. Way to go man! I also know what you mean about grinding out long projects. I have several that I'm getting tired of grinding on.

Thanks gents Basecoat gave me fight, probably 'cause I used Model Masters acrylic of questionable vintage. Even if the bottle has not been opened it seems this paint likes to dry in a flash if it's a couple years old...here it was drying in the needle and nozzle of the airbrush. This means spray for 3 seconds, clog up, adjust, spray for 2 seconds, you get the idea. Don't matter how much you thin it, no retarder available, still good for coarse brush use altho I don't think I'll ever try to spray it again. In spite of my whining I got it basecoated even tho at the end I was spraying at 40 psi just to make the glop come out Time, no doubt, for a trip to the LHS as there's no way I'm gonna try to fade with this stuff, have to spring for some Mission Models which I have found most excellent. I still miss enamels Regards, Mark

"Not AFV Club"!!!!!! That. funny right there. I've got one of their M60 hulls barely started, every time I open the box and consider doing some more I shy away from it. A shame, really but dang it's got some tiny parts.......

Looking good so far. I like the "simplicity" of the build but I am pretty sure it will look not so simple when you get through all the finishing touches.

Thank you gents Russ it really is too bad but lately if I open up an AFV Club kit I get tired just looking at it. One day I'll get cocky again A bit further ahead with hair stick applied dirt, running gear installation, and detail painting Need to add a few extra goodies and then blend the dirt/dust with the airbrush. I've started the figures and will finalize the base plans soon Regards, Mark

It looks very nice Mark, I like this grey as many modelers make it much too dark grey. I'd slap around some dust pigments inside as well but maybe you're about to do so.

Looking fantastic, Mark! Well done!
I think I have two of these from Tamiya and one from someone else in the stash.

Thanks gents AG I'll be sure to hit the fighting compartment on the airbrush blending layer, may even add some coarse dirt as well. I agree with the shade of Panzer Grey, was hoping to get it lighter. To that end in a step I did not show I rattlecanned some Tammy fine white primer from directly above which worked for a change. RLF you oughta toss one on the bench, they're fun little kits. Especially after the Morser-Karl beast, you may need such a thing. I've not been very active on the bench due to PD hunting, and some of you may remember the Ford that my buddy gave me? It's turned out to be quite a bit more involved than was originally thought Nothing like a 1/1 to brighten your day. I've been getting up at 0430 lately so I can get a few hours in on it before it gets too hot; it's been gruesome here this summer. We're also getting lots of smoke from the multiple fires around kind of reminds me of last year Regards, Mark
