This came yesterday. It started around 10 am and snowed most of the night. My usual work shift is 10 hours. We had to work over because a lot of the late shift workers called off. Go figure. Spent 5 hours today shoveling the stuff. I didn't measure it but it's at least 10 inches. And it came a week early.

It's our 2nd snow of the season. First one was about 3 inches. This one made things interesting.
Our winters have been really mild the last three years. They've been El Nino winters and we get decent weather temps and not much snow. It just seems to me that other parts of the country that don't normally get "winter" get hit during El Nino's. The Carolina's are one example. Ice and snow I believe in Texas. Cold temps for Florida.

We had 36" here in capital land NY...today is another snow day as many still aren't dug out. I had to dig my tractor out 3x as it was just too much... I guess I shouldn't feel that bad. That's a lot of snow at once. A tractor with a plow woulda helped me though. Good you have one. I had seen a snow blower at a thrift shop early this summer but I didn't buy it. In hindsight... Then again, as I said, our winters haven't been that bad snow wise. Hard to say what the rest of this winter will be like but what will be will be. Just gotta deal with what happens.

10" is no small amount either. We're set back faaaar from the road...400-500'...I shoveled some, but if I had to do the whole thing I still would be out there

I can see from your pic you do look far from the road dauntless. I only shoveled half of mine. I did the driveway from the road to where we park and some of the sidewalk. The part of the drive that goes up to the garage I didn't do.
Fortunatly it's been above freezing during the day since we got it. It's melting on it's own, slowly.

Happy you made it though Jim. Sorry about the snowman. At least you could make one out of it.
Had that been here there would have been a mad dash to the stores so everyone could get their milk, bread and toilet paper. Happens every time they call for any amount of snow.

Thanks Jim, looks like we'll survive...LOL The tiny bit of snow we get is surprisingly good building snow, glad I don't have to shovel it. That tiny bit of snow and people here also start freakin out, the sirens go the whole time. Jim
