I spoke too soon. We got an additional 2 inches last night. Not bad, just enough to be pesky

This is Hillsboro this morning. First photo looks out my war room window above the garage, across the cul-de-sac at my neighbor's houses as the snow falls. Second one is out my front door, looking at one of my three Japanese maples. For us, this storm started Thursday afternoon with about an eighth of an inch of snow. Yesterday we had more or less constant drizzle of sleet and freezing rain, becoming steadier in the evening before turning to snow in the wee hours this morning. On the little tree you can see about a quarter of an inch of ice accumulation. We've got close to two inches of snow on the ground on top of that ice, and it is supposed to snow lightly all day long. Tonight a heavier mix of freezing rain, sleet, and snow. We're supposed to warm above freezing sometime late Sunday, but we've got nowhere we have to go so we'll just stay warm inside and watch the spectacle. In the Portland metro area, we are getting off lightly here in Hillsboro. The hills around the area, where I like to take my roadster in more clement conditions, have several inches of snow and well over a foot has fallen out in the Columbia River Gorge (and three feet up on Mt. Hood). South towards Salem it has all been freezing rain, and more than an inch has accumulated there with the usual problems of downed trees and power lines. Fortunately for them, they will get well above freezing by late today.

Here in the PRI ( Peoples Republik of Indiana) we got about 4.5 inches on the ground last week. Still here as it hasn't gotten above freezing all week. It's around 16 degrees now and they are talking about another 5 to 8 inches between today and Tuesday. If I ever hit the lottery Jim is going to get a new neighbor there in Arizona. I hate this crap.

There are two Arizonas, There is Northern Arizona (Flagstaff) if you live there you might as well live in a snow state, then there is Southern Arizona, (Tucson, where I'm at) If you like low wages, high taxes, and 350 motorcycle riding days a year, then this is the place for you. LOL

28° at noon, today. About an inch of sleet piled up outside the house. Still coming down. White as snow, but very slippery! I'm not going out the door!
