Thank you Joe, it's a great product to add to a diorama.

Fallen maple leaves, drink cans...slowly dressing it up to make it a diorama.

Beekster, I'm not a kit buyer to be honest and my stash is small, but I like the diorama items on the market. I like to paint a flower or a leaf as much as building and painting a model kit.

Oh, no criticism intended. But the cost of those diorama materials does add up, so I was curious. I sometimes think about what I spend on materials and then try to put it out of mind just as quickly. I certainly don't tell the wife! That first Madill yarder has around thirty bucks worth of Asuka parts in the hull and suspension, about $22 in tracks, about $30 in rigging lines, and I can hardly guess how much in styrene strip and sheet...especially with the considerable volumes of scrap generated as I worked things out Probably in the $30-$40 range. The second one has fifty bucks for an excavator just to get the track frame, will need more rigging line for the fourth powered guyline (call it $36) and will use up a bunch of Evergreen stock too. Not to mention more RTV and resin to make all those track shoes. At our level, this isn't exactly an inexpensive hobby. That said, it is cheaper than autocross and track days by a wide margin...

I try to bunch my expenses on the frills together with what I need to order so it spreads them out more. I have a running list going of what I want for dioramas and weathering stuff and just get it when I can...

Not a problem at all my friend, you're right on the fact that modeling can be very expensive. ..but still not as expensive as throwing darts (read : drinking beer) in a pub with fellow dart players (read : ever thirsty Viking-ish friends).

I know! I paid over $100 for a set of Tungsten Hammer Head Darts. ( That didn't include the beer for 1 season.)

Great work AG, I might have to invest in some of the MIG groundwork stuff. I think all hobbies can be expensive, I could pay in excess of £200 for running shoes but always buy previous years colours and if I'm careful can get them for less than £100!! My cycling gear is the same, previous years colours and models saves a bundle!!
