Funny Car GB Anyone?

I'm looking at my next project(s) being a funny car . Thought I would check to see if anyone else here may want to join in as a group build. I would prefer it to be open ended. Start when you can/finish when you can. IMO a "Funny" car from any era would be fine with me. From the early AWBs to today.

I will be building a 1/16th Dodge Charger from a Revell Hawaiian kit. I also have a spare 1/16 Charger body I plan to paint too. I've started getting large scale kits for a few reasons. One is my eyes aren't as good as they usta was, fingers aren't as nimble either for 1/24-1/25. The main reason for the switch is I want to improve my airbrush skills and 1/16 is a bigger canvas. I learned to AB in the '70s and I prefer that look the most.

I also have a post in "Bucky's Hangout" where I've put pics of a Charger F/C that my neighbor owned. I may try to replicate this car also, in 1/24.

Having decals made will be the biggest hurdle. If you know a decal maker who can do custom and in gold please let me know.

That's Ok Joe. Even if no one else wants to join it is the direction I will be going. Thought I'd put it out there.

I have an idea for another GB but I'll have to finish the F/Cs first .

I like this idea. I have a couple projects on the bench that are nearly finished. After that, I can probably start a funny car build. Depending on how many join in, we might make this a mini duel. Give it a few days to maybe get more replies.

Cool Bucky. Being I'd like it to be open ended I'll give it more'n a few days. A few signing on soon would be encouraging though.

So...the weather may be getting good enough that I am thinking of starting the 1/16 funny car. It's been about 3 weeks for anyone to join in. I did get one solid maybe from Bucky but that is all. It's no big deal. As I stated above, I plan to build it anyway.

My question then is, should I post my WIP in the Group Build section or should I post it in the regular Drag WIP section?

Jim, I'll create a mini group duel thread for Funny Cars. After that, you can start when ya get ready. I'll start mine in the same thread. Then, if anybody else wants to, they can jump in, too.

Would either of these two work for you Joe?

Olds kit is open. Sealed inner bag with body (white trees). Chrome trees and glass are not bagged. Two sets of decals but I'd say one was iffy. Box is ROUGH.

MAD kit is open/complete. All inner bags sealed.

You're welcome to one if you want one. I'm not going to build either one. I got them just to steal the engines out of for pullers.
