! is my favorite, 3 is close. I'm not a fan of the overly long bellows/dust cover on 2. Well, I'm off to glamp for a few days, time to ponder. And thanks all, this is fun.

Well, #3 it is, with a slight modification to the mantlet, and I'm happy. IMG_6677 by Russel Baer, on Flickr I took the bellows off of #2, but I like this one, with the irregularly shaped bellows best. And I'm going with a skate ring out of a Takom Brave Tiger kit for the loader's position: IMG_6678 by Russel Baer, on Flickr Ideas are just flyin' around my model room!

Thanks Duke. Cupola options are on the list next. I'm working on a standard Urdan setup and something a little different. Pics soon.

Ugh, paint? I've pondered a bit, maybe a gray/green/brown? Commander's cupola is coming along, main part is Abrams, from some unknown version Trumpeter kit, with a riser so the vision blocks all clear the other junk on the turret roof, some still to come, and a hatch (not yet on) from a Merkava3. IMG_6740 by Russel Baer, on Flickr I'm gonna try for a remote-fired M2 on the mount.

Okay. Since I'm pulling parts out of a Merkava kit, why not do the loader's hatch the same way? IMG_6744 by Russel Baer, on Flickr I'm happy here, continuity is good. Almost forgot this, something I've been playing with while I think about what's next on the '6D. End result will be a slick M60, YKW period. It's my last ESCI hull, and the turret from the Magach7 that this build started from. No, I don't have too much time on my hands.

More little bits: relocated antenna pots, internal mortar in front of the loader's station (cage to come) and range finders on extensions to clear the soon to come turret armor. IMG_6746 by Russel Baer, on Flickr I'm having too much fun doing the welds....

Okay, ERA is begun. First step was to cover the back of all the modules w/ thin sheet (actually a For Sale sign, good stuff)since I plan on a larger standoff distance than the kit these parts came out of.... IMG_6809 by Russel Baer, on Flickr Then it was time to start fitting and trimming as I install the stuff, trying to keep the look more similar to the earlier Magachs. So far I have the mid and rear of the right side done, and most of the front of the hull: IMG_6810 by Russel Baer, on Flickr Lots to do still, but it's progressing.

Thanks Joe. I also use dealer license adverts, those plastic "license plates" with the dealer names, good styrene, various thicknesses, all over the ground at the lots I work.

More turret armor. First, right side, pretty much done. Smoke launchers are from a MEng Merk3. IMG_6812 by Russel Baer, on Flickr And left side, very close: IMG_6811 by Russel Baer, on Flickr And from the top, showing the completed mounts on one side, not started on the other: IMG_6813 by Russel Baer, on Flickr I'm using the Tamiya kit mounts as much as possible, why not?
