Back on the slipways Minsk, Kiev and Baku all have their green flight deck areas freehand sprayed... next stop masking off and spraying the reddish (its actually a primer coat on the real things) areas of the main decks etc; followed by constructing their Islands and weapon systems etc; Going to be replacing the radars mit brass and will probably rail a few selected areas... 🙄
From the top down we have Minsk (Aoshima), Kiev (Trumpeter, Baku (Hobby Boss)
They were “accidentally” joined last night by the Trumpeter Admiral Kuznetsov (aka “Comrade Sea Monster”) I opened the box to see what the kit was like and one thing led to another, you know how that goes... 🤔
It was all going fine this morning, til I opened a few Battleship boxes, just to refresh my memory ya know and dagnabbit ! It went and happened again ! 😖 (Dat’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it folks !) 😆
From the Top down we have HMS King George V (Tamiya), RM Roma (Trumpeter), USS Tennessee 1944 (Trumpeter) and IJN Fuso 1944 (Aoshima)
Idea is to build/paint the other 3 to where Fuso is and then proceed on all 4 - Fuso’s been put back in her box countless times, so tis about time I got the old gal done ! 🧐

Anchor's away me boy!!!

Aweigh actually. 🧐🤓
You weigh anchor before you leave (cos when you start to pull the anchor up, ya get the weight of it on the line as soon as it clears the bottom !) “The call “Weigh Anchor”, followed by the reply of of “Anchors aweigh Cap’n” meant the anchor had cleared the bottom and the ship was free to proceed. Also meant (in the days of sail) that the helmsman better look lively in case the sails filled with wind and ship swung in a direction it shouldn’t have, either “breaching to” (going side on to the wind) and “keeling over” (could cause a capsize if the cargo broke loose and went to the low side of the hold) or grounded astern as it swung “head into wind” (just as potentially embarrassing, especially if the rudder was damaged or smashed)
End of English lesson and today’s trivia
Regards (and no offence) to All OB 😉

Meanwhile, back at the slipways...
Same positioning as before, no change on Fuso.
Yes (as can be seen) I do intend to put the distinctive red and white diagonal recognition stripes on RM Roma’s bow

NP Boss ... Meanwhile back at the slipway... Roma’s got her stripes (the next bit of painting “fun” will be getting the grey paint onto the sides of all the “sticky-up bits” without overpainting on their red or white tops, or the deck ! Time to break out a smaller hairy stick then ! 🤭 Regards to All OB 😉

Candy Cane in a barbershop - bullseye !
Meanwhile back on the slipway, nothing happened ! I was doing quite a bit of soldering, til I forgot the business end of the soldering iron gets hot.... scorched me fingers, cussed myself out and dropped it hot end first (of course) into my lap 😫 more cussing as I stood up rather fast, no damage to my lap, but the hot end of the thing landed on top of my bare foot 😖... One of those days I’m afeared... 🤯. I was soldering wire to switches and LED’s just so I’m ready when it comes time to build a control panel for the railway... 🤫
Regards OB 😉 of singed and blistered in places.

Once again in the “Meanwhile back at the slipway” Dept.... 🧐
KGV got her upperworks done and main armament fitted and was then moved to the fitting out dock for secondary and Flak armament plus sundry small items (boats, radars etc) to befitted and masts stepped - paint drying on that lot, photos later... 😁
USS Tennessee ‘44 has had a lot of paint slung on the parts for her upperworks and main armament. When dry, that lot will be assembled onto the ship and she’ll join KGV in the fitting out dock. (pix later) 😁
RM Roma will be the “victim” of the same treatment tomorrow and then I’ll move onto Fuso ... The 4 Soviet carriers will follow Fuso. 🤔🤫
Pix later tonight (when the paint’s dry) of what’s been done on/to KGV and Tennessee 🙄
Regards to All OB 😉 of busy, busy, busy 😎

Ummm... nyerss well... 🧐
Won’t be doing too much today, my busted wrist woke me up sending “Aarrrgggghhh ! “ signals. Hurts like stink at present, despite painkillers. Looks like I’m taking it easy today... Executive decisions to be thunk about, made and appropriate steps to be tooken after making the decision(s) as well. 🤔
I’ll letcha know what happens once I’m happy with the decisions (not going to stop muddlin !) 🤓
Regards to All OB of Thunkin’ 😉
