Same as the wood for the Coke build to start, then Mig acrylic nature effects stippled on with a hard round brush!!!

What kinda car is that? Looks like it has a chain drive. Apparently it's a Blitzen Benz No2 of 6 imported to the US

I can imagine the chains back in the day caused some awful damage to everything they came into contact with!!

I can imagine the chains back in the day caused some awful damage to everything they came into contact with!! If nothing else, the truck by modern standards was a rolling Superfund site since lubricating oil was constantly dripped on the chain and therefore onto the road surface. The big M26 Pacific Dragon Wagon was also chain drive, and the constant-loss lubrication is one reason why you can't run trucks like these on the road any more except for parades and such. As for the model itself: Gorgeous! Makes me want to troll eBay to see what I can find... A lot of these AC model trucks were in service for a very long time. Pneumatic tires were fitted by many operators by the mid 1920s. Mack also did a long-chassis 6x2 version of the AC in 1926, with the second rear axle not driven, and a 6x4 version AP in 1929. I don't know how the chains were arranged to drive the second rear axle. With a pair of Monogram kits, either of these versions would be a project that could be done.

Joe, would you do me a favor? Please measure the wheelbase of the model as built. There was little difference between the 1926 kit version and earlier ones built for the Army in World War One, save perhaps for wheelbase dimensions. I suspect that all of the Monogram kits share one wheelbase (tanker, logger, stake bed, and dump). The Army trucks had a 168" wheelbase, save for the steel dump bodies which were on a 156" wheelbase. All this info if from Vanderveen's book on military Macks. I'd like to get an idea of what might be necessary to do a proper Army version from the Monogram kit. The dimensions of the standard Army cargo body B are 152"L x 86"W x 31"H, the latter measurement 80" with bows. One guy right now has both a civvie dump truck and a stake bed truck for sale; considering an offer for both. The six-wheelers also had a longer wheelbase, though I haven't nailed that down. Might ask him what he'd take for both together...
