Looked around the yard and no bark looks scale for this so just puttied the ends, will see what they look like painted later...

I've seen in the past where guys take backyard twigs and scribe the bark with a #11 blade to get a scale look. I haven't tried that trick, however.

Love this! Love anything old and Mack, really. If you want to detail the engine, here's some photos that might come in handy: The logs look really good. That putty work on the ends gives a pretty convincing impression of the growth rings. Be advised that these kits could lead you down the path to the Dark Side if you ever look at photos like this one: Photo from Bart Vanderveen's "A Record of Macks in the Services and beyond"
