A very sweet and easy kit; made me not want to do another Dragon. A moderately successful tank destroyer, these were equipped with the same high velocity 75mm L 70 as was used in the Panther which made it very dangerous if you were in front of it. The downsides of it according to one Bruno Friesen, who was a gunner in one of these on the eastern front, were huge blind spots for the driver and an easily damaged gun mount. Compounded by the fact that there was no easy way to remove the gun to service or fix a damaged mount these vehicles were not as effective as they could have been.
I'll be dreaming up an appropriate base for this

Late thanks gents All right then I've been dreaming up a base for this for TWO AND A HALF YEARS? Pathetic. First thing caught my eye as I scraped this off the shelf was a glaring lack of dirt; I am correcting this now    with MIG acrylic mud paste, coarse on the hull and fine in the tracks. The hull I painted up with MIG enamel Damp Earth, then wet blended it with some Kursk Soil for a bit of variety and I'm thinking I'll use the darker Damp Earth on the fine stuff in the tracks. I'm planning on a simple grassy base with a track thru it we'll see if I get any bright ideas 'tween now and then |
