I did threaten to do this, did I not?

Good molding and lots of parts
The hull is molded so thin that the first thing I did was install the rear plate and final drive housings so I'd not break the tub when installing the torsion bars. This could be a very fussy little thing we'll see

Welcome gents
The suspension on this kit is made to be articulating but much to my disgust bad engineering, fit and errors in molding make this unachievable. You'd think with an MSRP of $65 it'd not be this way.
One of the two PE sheets is thin as foil which means when you breathe on it it bends, folds, and crumples then refuses to lay down so the engine deck screens got the garbage bucket fix. The fender braces and other fittings are PE only options which hacks me off but this sheet was sturdier and I was able to use it. I hate PE hate hate hate hate...
Sooo, three stages of painting done. Primer, basecoat, and from the top applied lighter OD fading

I ran out of paint, Tammy XF-62 OD on the hull and opened another bottle for the turret. You can probably tell just by looking at the shade difference, but I feel weathering will hide this effectively so I'm not over concerned with this small oops

Darn paint lots... I've had that happen on a car before and had to strip and start over cause I couldn't weather a Ferrari... lol!!!

Bummer about the paint. You could just say the turret was replaced in the motor pool!

Excellent looking paint work Mark. You got this.
I understand what you mean about P/E. I was just given a kit with surrounding P/E screens on it; that will be fun, especially since I have to build each screen from scratch!
You got this man! I also agree with Bucky; that turret must have been switched out in the Motor Pool.

Great work Mark!! I agree with you on the PE,with my arthritis in my hands I only do PE when it's easy to work with or there's no other choice.

Sorry about the issues with the kit, you are making great progress on her though.

Thanks gents
Jconn why sure ya could
Bucky, Duke the paint bottle difference was no more than a minor annoyance at that stage, just had to squirt the hull again and presto all fixed
Cliff I don't yet have arthritis in my hands but PE sure gives me a pain elsewhere
Doogie there's no one major bad in this kit it's more like the death of a thousand cuts but with patience said bads can be overcome
Given last winter was a fairly rough one I am out of doors quite often these days and not given to hiding down in the tank room so progress here has suffered. I expect this will change mid July or August or so when it gets up to 100+ degrees out and am enjoying it while I can. Despite this I've beat it forward a little

I know M-24's had Ma Deuce mounted in back of the loader's hatch but this always seemed stupid to me since one would have to get out of the turret to use it; perhaps not the best idea when bullets etc. were flying around. If it were my tank I'd put it in front of the commander...wow just like I've done with the model the rivet counters should love that heh heh
