Everyone that wants to enter has their names thrown into a pot and they get drawn out in secret and assigned to one of the people to buy and mail a kit to... you do this for every member so everyone gets a kit from someone... the only thing is you sign it from your secret Santa and they don't know who sent it but they all get built on the site in a special secret Santa Build area throughout that next year... then when it is done if the person wants to know who it was they can share that info...
there is usually a set price limit on what to spend... it is fun to see who gets what to build and sometimes its can really stretch you out of your comfort zone, it would be like someone giving you a Tiger Tank to build!

The sorting and then sending out addresses is usually done by some admin or mod that doesn't enter so it doesn't matter if they know who is getting who what!!! They just have to keep it to themselves and not say except to dole out the name and their address in PM's individually to each participant.

If you start the process in October it gives the participants time to save money and get a kit plus mail it wherever it is going... sometimes the overseas costs can be a bit much... and you need to put on the mailing declaration that it is a gift so the recipient doesn't have to pay import fees!!!
