How I missed this one is, well, par for me, I gotta pay attention! Wow Dave, excellent SBS, coming together expertly. I like how the anti-skid showed up after the wash, more definition, plus, them tracks look great. Seems an awful lot of work they make ya put in, yikes! Those decals set down nicely too, good work.
Your close up pics are excellent, what camera are you using? It has great micro focus and the pics are clear.
So far, I'm impressed with Ming's kits, they seem to go all out. Bravo Buddy, Bravo!

Good morning Ski. No worries my good man. Better late than never, eh? I am glad you are enjoying the build. I'm having a hoot with it. The tracks don't necessarily "fly together", but they do go a bit quicker than Modelkasten tracks. The camera is about 10 years old now. It's a Canon PowerShot A640. It's been a rather dependable digi cam. Every once in a while it shows its age. The Macro setting seems to have fits. For the next camera I'd like to get a digi SLR. Anywho, this one hasn't given up the ghost yet.

Even a stainless steel weld seam will rust to a certain extent, depending on exposure to the elements. On a carbon steel weld, they can rust very badly, to the point of failure. Pinholes and cracks can develop, creating the need to go in and repair the weld. If a weld area is prepped correctly, and protected with a coating, such as paint, rust can be delayed.

It’s a Minion! How could it not?! My wife’s ring tone at work are various Minion “quotes”. You should see all of the various docs and nurses looking around when her phone goes off in the unit. Priceless!!!

Believe it or not, that particular welding hood was painted by a welder I worked with at the nuclear plant in Alabama! This pic was taken in the little shop we had behind the office building!

When I moved to Washington State and went to work for Safeway a customer came and in and we both were shocked... she was the window lady at a Jack-In-The-Box restaurant in my old California town I grew up in and had also moved here to the middle of nowhere!!! Next day I met one of my new coworkers who went to one of my rival high schools down there in Lancaster... she also had moved up about a month before I did to the same town!!! Weird indeed!!! And yes we are all still friends here as we were down there!!! |
