Really excited with this which I just scored on Ebay uk. It was MPC's second release, but this was the UK Airfix issue licensed from MPC, there was a reciprical deal with Airfix kits issued in the US by MPC - mainly aircraft though. I first built this way back in '67 (yeah I'm that old), It was only the second car kit I ever bought, the first being the Gangbusters kit. I bought it whilst on holiday with my parents in '67 and built it before I got home too! It was the last holiday with my mother as she died just the year after sadly, so having it again to build means something special. I even have an old B&W pic of it outside the guest house which i took myself only 44 years ago Yeah I really did put the footprints across the roof! Bob

Bob That's cool, I still have the one I bought back in 67 (and ya I'm that old too. I was 22 then) Does it still have the metal coil springs and working suspension like it did back then ?

As far as I know it still has all the working features. When I made it back then I didnt even paint it - not even the insides. All I had was some tube glue! Its gonna be a bit better this time! I'm thinking metallic black!

Very nice find mate, i felt that way when i "re-discovered" the old gangbuster kits, there's still a few models i'd like to get to sort of replace the ones i built back then, remember a pair of mid fifties chevys i did then, a sedan and a panel van, both had opening doors, bonnets and boot lids, and both were molded in metalic plastic, the sedan was ice blue and the van a sort of maroon, also a 57chevy bel air with all the bits opening, no idea who made em tho this kit will bring back some memorys

Popeye- those Chevys would be Revell kits. Most have been re-issued several times, but the panel seems to be hard to find. They were a big deal in the sixties, due to all the working features and the fully detailed chassis, but I think I only managed to put one together so everything worked right- they were a bit too fiddly! Bobcrozier- I had one of those vettes when they were new kits (yea, another one "that" old!) every time I see one on Ebay, I debate about buying it, wondering if it was as good as I remembered!

A wonderful kit, Bob! Sorry about the loss of your Mum. I, being an "Oldie-Goldie", had one of the MPC versions of this 'Vette. I liked the kit very much. Great find, dude!!!!

Y'all remember I said I had one more shipment from eBay coming? It came this week,as did two that were gifted from friends. I can now build several replicas of 1:1's I owned (I owned all of the eBay scores in 1:1 at one time or another, with the exception noted above it's pic*,but it was close...). All are NIB,two boxes open, rest sealed. From eBay,in the order that I owned em too, teeheehee! My first car (was an '83 in turd brown) (didn't know mine was a Pacer until after I'd totaled in in high school) (mine was an '86 TA with the 305TPI/5 spd,not the '89 GTA*) (one of two IROC Z's I owned was an '89 like this one,a real 1LE optioned car!) I didn't own all these in a row,but the kits are listed in order that I owned the 1:1's. That T-Bird Turbo Couple I posted getting last week,I owned 2 of those two

I'm sorry I didn't see those comments to say thanks Thanks, guys. I always wanted one of those Nomads, and that Chevelle was one I lost to the fie and sorley regretted not having built, now I can ;D Well, today the wife an I made a trip all the way past the old house to Grundy (Virginia). First new score of the day was a clear title to her car as we paid the last payment today (key dancing girls and wine!). Then we headed even further fromhere towards Tazewell,VA to pay on a delinquent account layaway (I made the layaway back in July jjust after the fire, hadn't made a second payment since...they don't do debit\credit cards, and said to 'come in and pay when you're settled,we've known you 15 years,no worries'). I had paid more than I remebered,so it only cost $20 more to pick it up\pay it off then to pay the payment we had budgeted in,so pay it off we did. Nick's two (my 9 year old son)... Most of the Mustang kits I lost in the fire... That 2010 GT had not been released when the house burned,so I had never had it before. I already have a Shelby GTH (2009,I think?),and I thought I had a Bullitt (2008) so I swapped the new Bullitt kit out for another kit,but alas I was mistaken...I'll pick one up later This is one I was strongly lusting to have, and the one I swapped that Bullitt for... NOW I'm gunna have to hurry and finish the "sort-of half baed working on" projects and get them done and displayed so I can build this (along with another Revell '49 Merc kit...they just go together in my mind) SOOOON!

Thanks Guys! Popeye: Nope, shouldn't be rare at all,it was only released as a new (new tooling too) kit from Mobious. Any online kit vendo (as well as eBay) should have plenty of them, not overly expensive either Wicky: That Pace Car is\was a grail of mine, that having been the only 1:1 Mustang I ever owned before the one I currently own (and that was 21 years ago in high school). I used to have the Monogram 1:24 version (burned up in the house in June),but after having looked at both kits,I think I prefer the MPC version-besides it being my prefered scale (1:25),soe of the parts (like the air-dam for eg) just look more...correct...to my eye. BTW,I didn't know mine was a pacer until after it was total'd,LOL!

Wow, Steve! You've really been busy gathering up the styrene stuff!! I agree about the difference in the two Mustang Pace Car kits. I have both, and the MPC does seem to look better. BTW...you have a PM
