I'm not able to change the colour of the mini profile background, do I just type in a colour? can't remember it's been ages since I last did anything like this?

LOL...I've tried adding every background color I can think of and tried changing the profile text color for over a year with no success at doing either.
I'm an idiot!

Gentlemen, here is how you do it! I will play on Roberts to give you the steps then you can change them however you want... go to your profile and click on the edit profile button in the upper right... next hit the personal tab along the top... Scroll to the bottom where the mini-profile background box is and click in it... a new box will open that has two boxes, background image and background color... click on the box that says color... and a pretty colorful box will open, use the slider bar to move to the color selection you want then choose the shade of color in the box that you like by clicking all over until you see what you want... hit ok, then hit save... the color will change in the picture to the right... do the same for your name color by clicking in that box until you are happy and then do the same with the text box... when all done hit the button in the lower corner that says Save Personal Settings... scroll back to the top of the page and hit home and you will be back in the forum with your new colors... you can now change all of them whenever you want!!! Simples!!! Now go have fun!!! Joe  |

I clicked in the box and this colour came up, I can't change Righto Joe, I still can't get any colours up on my mini profile the is nothing to choose from The colour you've done me is great but can you do my name yellow to match the stars please Many thanks |

Okay...
I don't get a "pop-up" no matter where I click around the mini-profiles - in the boxes, outside the boxes, no where.
Before anyone suggests it, I've already gone into Firefox and added this site to the "exceptions" when blocking pop-ups. I also completely logged out of the site, restarted Firefox, and tried again...no pop-up.
Not sure what else I can do.
I've lived with it for over a year...it's not that big of a deal.

Well you did change it back to white from what I did... lol!!! What color do you want sir and I will fix it a bit later as I have to go run some errands... background, name and text... |

The box in the middle comes up when you click in those long boxes under the names mini-profile background or mini profile name color or mini profile text color... the color choice box comes up when you click in the middle box that says background color...  |

Okay...I believe I've figured it out.
By inspecting the html code for the mini profile page where the color overlay box is "supposed" to appear, it looks to me like this action is a JAVA script of some sort. If that is true, then I now understand the problem.
Beginning with the 64 bit Firefox version 52, ALL support for Java and Silverlight were discontinued. This is because these two scripts are notorious for hiding malicious software. In essence, unless one of these scripts includes a Adobe Flash or Shockwave alternative, they will not run in 64 bit Firefox. There is a workaround in that there is an ADD-ON available for the 32 bit Firefox that will allow Java scripts to run...however, the 32 bit Firefox is much less secure than the 64 bit version.
Since the whole mini profile editing capability is an add-on for forum administrators from ProBoards, the only other solution would be if ProBoards changed the script and offered a new add-on.
Anyway, that's probably TMI for most people here...
