I've never tackled a big scale kit like this. What are the major problems with one this big?

I've never tackled a big scale kit like this. What are the major problems with one this big? It's not the scale fella, as you know I build big scale regularly, it's the quality. The Street Charger was re-released through Round 2? and to be totally honest, the molds are dog tired. I wish I had kept the image of how much material I removed through cutting and sanding to make parts fit, conversely, the amount of small strips of styrene I used to pad other areas out to make them at least touch the other part they were meant to attach to! I don't think MPC will release this again, not without a fair degree of retooling so grab one now, they're getting scarce and you're not likely to see it around much longer! |

That's kinda what I suspected. I always wondered why the kitmakers didn't at least do periodic freshening of their molds. I have a good bit of problems with 1/24 scale with the extra flash on parts. Aggravating sometimes!

To be honest I would love to do another, next time it would be a fun build because I know where the pitfalls are and how to address them. I would hunt around for the earlier release though but either way, prices are so high now, it will probably never happen. With a price tag of in excess of £85 once you've got it back to the UK and paid import duties it simply isn't worth it.  |

I remember back when I could buy a kit for less than 10 dollars! Of course my allowance was a lot less then! This Charger is beautiful! I have one of the old Chargers like this one. Got it back in either the late 70's or early 80's, don't remember. I enjoyed building it. I will post mine soon.
