Okay....I tried the "Heat 'em up" method of joining the track ends together: We'll see how well I did! LOL

Agreed, that does look good. You're getting pretty good at this so far.

I looked at those tracks in my kit and this looks like the best method .
The kit instructions suggest using CA in my 1988 issue but that method has a 50/50 chance of working .
If the connection looks questionable you could capillary action some CA into it .

Well...the heat treatment didn't work on the track. It looked like it had welded the ends together, but when I tried to roll it over, it snapped apart. Just as well, as these tracks are actually too short for the ends to meet when placed on the wheels. I tried using CA to attach the track to the wheels. After an hour, the track just fell off the wheels. I tried TESTORS tube glue in the orange tube. About the same result. I haven't tried the Gorilla Glue, yet. That may be next!

Holy Mackerel. That's weird. I've never had a failure with this method. I don't know what to tell you, Keith. I'm sorry it didn't work, Buddy. I do have an idea though, that might solve the problem if the Gorilla glue doesn't work.
Now I know this wouldn't be totally accurate but it would take care of the track issue. It looks like it would be pretty easy to scratch some sideskirts for the Hull. Some plastic sheet, a couple of angle cuts and there you go. They would hide the joint and it wouldn't make any difference if the tracks are too short, 'cause you wouldn't see it. Just a thought.

That's a good idea, Jeff. I might do just that! As you can see, the track is fitting fairly snugly against the fender. It won't fall out. I may be able to just use some invisible tape to hold the ends together, and build a skirt, as you suggested.

Thanks guys! The only thing I found that would stick to those tracks was packing tape, and it didn't stick very well! Maybe they won't come flying outta there!!!

I would of used a needle and thread at that point and put the join above an upper wheel... wow!!!

I put the tape on the top, under the fender. It's clear, and can't be seen. Works for this little crawler.
