Truth is it was meant to be the colour the instructions suggest, a sort of pale brown with cream decals. Due the the age of the kit, it was clear the decals would not survive the application process so I hastily changed my paint plan to Nissan Sunset Gold which I think works quite well.

No buddy, not humble just eyes open and realistic.
There are a couple of very good Auto Forums out there, hard to find but they are there.
Look at the finishes those guys (and girls) achieve for too long and you would simply throw all your built kits in the bin, sell the rest and take up pottery.
