This one is from a JoHan kit. Very hard to come by, nowadays! It prolly has the kit supplied 440 in it. I have the JoHan '68 300, which has been re-issued a few times.

Bucky, I'm looking for the Jo-Hans kit that had the 383 Sonoramic Commando in it with the long-Cross-Ram intake. I'm not wanting the whole engine, I would like to see what it take to mold the intake if at all possible! -I KNOW Ross Gibson did something similar, BUT, I wasn't lucky enough to find one of those from him till they were gone! And to that, I do not think they're "scale" is correct. ALL his stuff seemed overly "big" for 1/25th and 1/24th scales!
Jo-Hans on the other hand seemed to be right on for scale size.... Thats why I'm seeking it out! (I mold a lot of my own Mopar engine parts) and do a bit of trading with it....

I'll check my spare parts bin. I may have some of those parts.

-I'd much appreciate that! I would like to see what it take! (I'm not sure I can mold it without having it in-hand so. but getting a set of them (they're 2 piece intakes) so... theres a specific left & a specific right to these as they bend in opposite directions to get the carburetors at about the same vertical as horizontal area/distance (if that all makes any sense) I CAN post pics of the real thing so you know what ya looking for! -let me know!

I have several of the JoHan kits with this option. I may have the parts in the bin from one I've already built.

Do you have a picture of the Ram intake you're looking for? The 49 Merc kit has a Wide Cross Ram.

This is the long ram setup from the early sixties. The '49 Mercury kit has the following cross-ram setup:

Thats a NICE 413, NICE job on that whole car Bruce!!!! I just gotta say Ross Gibson didn't do his homework tho............ the 413 was never called a Max-Wedge! It was a High-Performance Wedge. The true "Max-Wedge" didn't come till the 426, in '62, and that was then called the Stage 2, (there was never a stage 1)
NICELY done tho, it looks the part of what its to represent and you did a fine job of assembly too!

Thanks. The Promo, glue bomb, didn't have much detais, so the Ross fit the bill. I love building detailed engines as well.
