I always wanted to build a model of my older brothers '66 Pontiac Tempest, complete with OHC 6. Well , this aint it! This one is based on my brothers, (because it's the wrong body color). I took a Revell 1966 Pontiac GTO and dethroned it down to a Tempest, no easy feat to do. First I fitted the 6 from a Firebird,(via the parts box). wasn't hard at all, nor was the removing the hood scoop, the real trick was the tail lights, that was the tuff spot! but with the help of a friend, ( he does great decals) the problem was solved. To make it a sedan I took the window framing from a 69 Nova, and with a bit of finessing got them fitted on the Tempest. The interior is a bench seat with a hurst on the floor (Sam's was a 3sp.).I didn't notice till the car was done, that Revell goofed inn making the bench seat without a split in the middle,(and I even changed the pattern. Anyway, here it is, my 66 poncho Tempest ,(based on my brothers). With a pic of the actual car. And here's a pic that we could have never taken, my '65 GTO with my brothers 66 Tempest. Thank you for your imterest, Jerry You can see the build here: public.fotki.com/B67ville/model-cars-1/gm/pontiac/gto/01449-1966-pontiac-/

I think it looks great, Jerry! The paint looks super smooth! Great fix on the taillights!

Another question I have is where did you get the wheel covers for these tin Indians?

Next time you have a chance, can ya zoom out and take a pic of that garage? And tell us a little bit about it? I think it's a great backdrop for taking pics of your fantastic builds!!!
