This is the Revell (nee Monogram) 55 Chevy convertible. I started this in November, figuring it would be my last build of 2012. Life (and apathy) got in the way, and it dragged on... Getting the clear on helped spark an interets in getting it finished. One of the things that slowed it down, was that it only gave the choice of the continental kit, of which I'm not a fan. I played around with the idea of using the rear bumper from the Badman Chevy. It fits with a bit of tweaking, but doesn't look right with the front bumper having overriders. So, I gave in, and will go with the connie kit. Overall, this is a pretty nice kit. The 265 (with Power Pack) is one of the nicest small block chevies in a kit. The only problems I ran into were the rear axle not lining up in the wheel wells properly, and the stock wheel covers didn't fit the tires very well. I addressed the rear axle problem by trimming of the mounting pins and moving the axle/spring assembly back about 2 mm. While I was at it, I trimmed the spring brackets to lower the rear about 2 mm, also. This gives the typical drooping rear end of a continental kit equipped car. I replaced the kit's stock wheels with parts box steelies and baby moons, which would be apprpriate for the late 50's- early 60's. Tom

This is a MAJOR beauty, Tom!! The colors are perfect for this ride. I never thought about a continental kit causing the rear end of car to hang lower! A great tip for some of my future builds! Thanks for sharing this with us!

This is looking great, I like the colour combination on the interior and the block looks super clean.
