Hey all! I've been a ghost on here for something like 18 months now?
Many of you know that my wife and I purchased the property where our trailer was, plus the house next door. That gave us 3 acres of land, 2 houses and 3 outbuildings. Shortly after purchasing it, we started what we thought was going to be a 6-month remodel on the other home. We are now entering month 22. Long story short, the repairs on the main structure cost about $100,000 with us doing half of the work. We then decided to add on a new master suite, 2-car attached garage, new poured concrete porches on the front and back AND to retrofit the house to be handicap friendly.
This last part was for me because later this year I need to have foot surgery, 2 years from now I have to have Achilles reconstruction, 5 years after that I have to have 5 sets of 2 bones fused, and then 5 years after that I will need a complete ankle replacement.
All this to say, that this house has taken every last ounce of energy for my wife and I, so there hasn't been time for anything else. When we move in (sometime in the next 2 weeks Lord willing), I've got to dig out my model stuff, organize it and hopefully start building again soon. It's something I've greatly missed, but both homes are disaster zones storing materials and furniture for the new house!
