Thanks to all. Rescue is the way to go Robbo, they can be hard work but its worth it.

I was given a shih tzu once for rehoming. A friend had two and they didn't always get on with each other. Ours was named Maxx. He was the best doggo I ever had. He lived with us for twelve years. He suffered some internal injuries from being attacked by an outside dog. Sadly, he had to be put down.
