Thanks guys. Today’s progress. I had to scratch build some pieces that were broken on the sprue. Tomorrow morning I will get some more primer on it. I may be able to start laying on some color too.

This is coming along nicely with all the attention to detail that you're giving this. What I'm keying in on is that canopy made out of a wing section. THAT......puts the cherry on top!! Gonna be watching this one.........

I never thought I would say “I’d like to build a tractor” I think you have changed that Gator. Nice job so far

Thank you guys. I did get everything primed yesterday. I'll be looking through my Vallejo colors to find the right olive drab to paint it. Vallejo's olive drab is a little to brown for WWII US vehicles.

Don't obsess over it, Gator. Weather exposure changes the hue over time, and the Army was pretty cavalier about the color of OD that was accepted. Different vendors had different formulations, despite the supposedly fixed ratio of brown, ochre, and white that made up the color.

Correction: Black, yellow ochre, and white. Pretty simple, but small variations in the accuracy of the mix made for slightly different shades. In wartime, you don't quibble about color too much. But yeah, just use the TLAR method: That Looks About Right.

Thanks guys. I was able to get some bench time today. I sprayed the US olive drab and it’s too dark for me. I found a good match for the color on the box art, which I like. The olive drab just hides too much of the details.

I agree Kenny, that is pretty dark. You might look at Tamiya Field Grey XF-65... it is a grey green color...

Very interesting project. I'm here for the remainder of this journey. Looking good so far. I agree with the others about it being a bit dark.

Got some time today at the bench. Off of work for Mardi Gras holiday. I found a green that looks perfect, Vallejo US Dark Green. Repainted the tractor, hood and rims.

I'm with Joe....much better color, and it will look great suitably weathered and begrimed with oil leaks.

I'm calling this one done for now before it drives me crazy. Green paint kept chipping on it while I worked on it today. I haven't sprayed enamels in my hobby room in 18 years because of Ian. Today I had to bite the bullet and spray some Mr. Hobby matt clear from a rattle can. Fortunately I have a very good filter system on the paint booth and Renee never smelled anything. I'll let the paint cure for a week and then get the decals on it and do some weathering.
