Up next, Thunder Models Case tractor. It has a couple of decal options, one for the US Army Air Corp. That is the version I am building. I have a question. I have the resin tires for the kit. What is a good color for the tires?

Thanks guys. I should have known to look through my massive Vallejo paint collection. I found my bottle of Panzer Aces Dark Rubber. Several years ago Renee let me by the big Vallejo Model Color set.

Anything from black to a dark weathered gray will work for tires, Gator. All depends on how new the tires are. If you go with a weathered dark gray, you might want to make one of them black just for visual interest--a newer replacement.

Thank you guys. I did get a little work on the tractor today. The wife and I got caught up watching the original ‘The Saint’ series with Roger Moore. The movie with Val Kilmer is one of our favorites. Anyway, here is the work on the chassis. I made a canopy for the tractor. Since I am building the Army Air Corp version, I figured that some creative mechanic made one out of a piece of a wrecked bomber.

Very nice canopy coming together there; just the sort of thing troops always do to make their lives easier.

Today’s progress. The chassis is just about ready for primer. I got the photo etch steps done.

Thanks for the reference photos! I’ll likely do some light weathering. I figure that, while used frequently, it didn’t have as hard of a life as on used on the farm.

I did a little work on the tractor today. Just wasn’t feeling it this weekend. Here’s a photo with the canopy in place but not glued down. The fuel cap went flying into another dimension so out came the punch set to make a new one.

Sweet! Including a portion of the national insignia is a nice touch. Gotta love punch and dies sets, right? They are among the best modeling tool investments I have ever made.
