No consolation perhaps, but cataract surgery not always helpful for scale modelling: I had my eyes done this time last year..and from extreme myopia..which is perhaps a good thing for modelling..to perfect distance..but imagine macro lens on a camera- very flat depth of field..so even with the assorted special reading glasses, I am totally frustrated with something either fully in or totally out of focus in just a mm of movement..as a figure painter- I’ve quit…but as you say, could be worse -after going back thru plastic modelling..and being less than enthusiastic..I bought a paper ship kit from BC a aircraft museum (their eBay store had old books, kits…) and am enjoying learning a craft that’s fun and - dirt cheap…plus, I mess up a part, I print the page over and have a new one to cut out…yeah it’s one step away from old people making paper cutouts..but I am past caring

Cheers Folks 👍
The 250/9 has joined the Tiger in the paint shop, awaiting final camo colours, decals, weathering etc; 🤔
At present a Takom Hetzer (early) is taking shape on the desk, no problems to report on any of those mentioned, photos next time - promise ! 😳
Camera dramas are being painful, rechargeable batteries refusing to recharge - this could get expensive 🤯

So do I...🤔
Nobody around here has em in stock atmo... 🤯 (ain't it always the way when you really need something ?).. oh well, good things come to those who wait (as the old saying goes)...
Hetzer's a bit involved, so its gone into a drawer of stasis for the moment, I'm working on a wheeze that should see me able to function in 72nd again... Think it'll work, got too many of the lil critters stashed to ignore them... I'll keep you posted on that, it'll either work well or fail dismally, I will say a somewhat ad hoc (read hastily lashed up 😳 ), prototype worked pretty well, but I know it could be made neater and a lot less complex, so that's what I'm working with/on at present.

Failed I'm afraid 😳 May (should) work with a bit more time put into it, but quite frankly, I'd rather be building models.
Sitrep somewhere in the next couple of days will cover what I've been up to in between faffing about with trying to enable me to function in 72nd again.

Sitrep 6 May...
Hoist on mine own Petard,(I went and said "never" again didn't I).. 🤯😳
On the desk, a pair of Eduard 72nd Focke-Wulf 190's are taking shape slowly, A5 on the left is almost finished, just needs its wheels and prop before its off to the paint shop.. A8 on the right is about a day behind it on the line.. 🙄
There's a slight delay on getting them into the paint shop, in the shape(s) of a certain 35th Tiger 1 and SdKfz 250/9 (Neu), which need their final camo colours, decals and weathering to git 'em outta there.. No sign of movement in the paint shop for the last couple of weeks, might have to move the vehicles to the paint shop annexe (read drawer of stasis), to git the FW's into the paint shop, doing so would be a pity, cos I do want to see how the Tiggy(particularly) comes up, but at present, my AFV/35th Mojo seems to be at a very low ebb, and fast receding into the distance in the face of my resurgant, unrepentantly unstoppable 72nd mojo, How my eyes will handle such things remains to be seen (or not). 😵💫

The only things not thanking me are my eyes....
At least there's been no headaches - finally learned to stop as soon as the first sign of an approaching brain throbber appears...🫨🤯💥🔥

That's great to see you back on aircraft. They look excellent as always. I'm glad you figured out how to do this without the headaches, hopefully your eyes don't protest too much.

The aircraft have gone unharmed into a drawer of stasis, cannot see the "leetle beets" on their sprues, let alone their location points on the things... they're safe and well, and will be finished after my eyes stop misbehaving.
Tiger and SdKfz 250/9 (Neu) have returned to the desk and have had the basis of their camo applied, they both need a few more tweaks, markings and dirtification to cross the line...
There's also a Tamiya T-34 ChTz turret done to the same stage as the other two, just needs markings and dirtification to be finished...
That's it and all about what's been going on at Panzerwerk Nuthausen

I agree with Joe! How do you get the "dust " to look so even and realistic?

I agree with Joe! How do you get the "dust " to look so even and realistic? If I remember correctly it is thinned acrylic tan or buff paint airbrushed where he wants the dust at a low spray rate... I'm sure M will tell us the correct way he did it!
