Happy New Year to all !
Wotz happening round the Works, Just step up to the viewing window and we'll run the current projects past you on the rotating carousel work bay thingy. All current winged projects are in 72nd, as are all of our forthcoming winged things.
Hobby boss 72nd Me-110 has copped a blast of Gunze Acryl Luftwaffe 75 overall topsides and Gunze 76 underneath, with a bit of freehand airbrush mottling in all the right places.
Eduard Profipak Me-109E has had a tad more assembly dun and should be airframe complete by this evening
And the Trumpy Foxhound still needs its decals and a flat black anti glare panel twixt windscreen and grey nosecone.
That's where we're at for the moment !

Cheers Joe
Nice to be back in familiar territory and not wondering what alias I'm using this year
Both lines are open (72nd Air and 35th AFV's) although the 35th is lying dormant for the moment (may have built a few too many of them in the last couple of years), as a few 72nd paint tricks are returning to my mind and being used again, despite my eyes not playing the game.
The latest news on that front is the cataracts are now in way too deep to be operated on, (thanks to covid stopping all public/pensioner operations for nigh on two years) So I'm stuck, there's a lot of my sight missing and it won't come back, but they don't think what's left will get any worse than it is now... So I'm still in the game, despite the hand life saw fit to deal me. I can only adapt and play with wot I got.. Life is such a dispassionate teacher at times, look at the kicks its dealt me over the years.. Ain't no point in feeling sorry for myself or crying publicly about it, that won't get me anything but sympathy that I'm not entitled to (not entitled 'cos I didn't ask for it), sympathy that won't fix the problem. I'm just battling on as and when I can or feel like it. I don't complain, cos there's others about who have worse problems than mine.
Oh well, enough procastrination, back to the desk !

I don't know about anyone else but I'm inspired by your fortitude to stick with it and make it work anyway! Keep it going as you can M!

Awww... Its just the way I feel about it. Nuthin' else I can do except live with it and try not to let it get in the way too often (its frustrating, but it ain't stopped me yet !)
Bit of an update for ya - no pix this time, I'll save them for later.. The 109 is airframe complete (glue still drying), the Foxhound has finally got its Anti glare panel ahead of the windscreen and the 110 is bracing itself for a blast of either Dk Grey 74 or Dk Green 71 in best practice splinter pattern over its mid grey 75 - no time for Mucking about at Flugzeug Fabrik (Aircraft Factory) Nuthausen, it would seem !

Update the last for today
As mentioned previously, the Foxhound has copped its anti-glare panel, now just needs a slight touch-up before it gets its decals, that's one job for the night shift.
The 109E is now airframe complete and will cop some paint (another job for the night shift)
and the Me 110 has copped its dark Green 71 splinter, but then had its remaining mid grey 75 overpainted with mid green 70 (something to do with assuming the colour call outs in the kit destructions were correct - oopsie ! ) ne'er mind, its fixed now, and it just needs its markings, think we'll leave that for the morning shift tomorrow
That's where we're at on the first day of the new year Best M of WW

The night shift seems to have got a wire crossed somewhere...π΅βπ«π€
The Me-110 has copped irs canopy and is now ready for decals and final touches, as is the MiG -31, neither of them copped any markings and nothing happened on the 109 (which should have copped some paint)
Investigations are ongoing into the matters.

Off with their heads! LOL!!! You don't by chance have a SAS Pink Panther kit do you? We just started a mini group build on them today if you want to join us! We are using the ol' Tamiya 1/35th kit. Joe

Nah.. decapitation is a tad messy, its my fault actually, one of them things, I wanted to get the 110 to the "finish it tomorrow" stage and that's what I did, so the Foxhound and the 110 will hit the shelves of finished at some stage today, the 109 will hit the paint shop and another 1 or 2 72nd fliers will hit the build lines...
I don't have an SAS PP as it happens, they're a bit too modern for my AFV interests, which I'm limiting to WW2 period only for the moment. Big T have jist re-released their M3 half track variants (M3/M4 Mortar Carrier/M-16) all of them in their low price range (about the price you'd have paid for them on first release back in the late 70's) nothing much wrong with them either.Thinking re grabbing one of each, just for some memory lane style fun builds.

Cheers Jed, its what I meant by not letting it get to me... π
I take lots of (iPad) photos of kits as I assemble and paint them and blow the photos up so I can see and fix any paint glitches etc; By tha time I post a photo of a completed kit up here, its likely to have been photographed more times than X (name your favourite fashion model) would have been photographed in their entire career ! That's just one of the little tricks and workarounds I use to try and keep my models up to scratch. I also use a 47 inch LG TV as a confuser monitor, cos the 15 inch screen on my laptop is to small for me to see or read anything with ! π
The MiG 31 Foxhound and the Me 110 have copped their markings and teeny bits and have moved to the shelf of display, The Me 109E has copped its basic paint colours, should be outshopped from the paint shop tonight - finished photos of all 3 on the morrow π€
Next to start will be.....π€ Er... dunno actually,π giving myself a day or two off and I'll see how my eyes are after that, if they're Ok, it'll be a 72nd flyer or twoπ, if not,π΅βπ« it'll be a 35th mud mover.

I love your mottled camo job! Nicely done M! I've managed to get that on a ME109 and my little dune buggy before without incident.

Tain't hard to do those mottle jobs freehand, I never mask mottles, hardly ever mask anything really, its just a matter of knowing your airbrush and how it operates over a range of air pressures, Knowing how much to thin the paint helps too... Tyros need not apply.
That said, that's the first mottle I've done on a 72nd Flyer in ages that I've been happy with, and once again it was sprayed with my trusty Testors Aztech 470. My more expensive air brushes (Badger Renegade Chrome and Paasche Talon), stayed in their boxes. Haven't used either of them in ages, once a few tricks with the 470 came back into my memory. Nice to know I've got a couple of good airbrushes up my sleeve in case something happens to the 470

It does help a lot (or both will help a lot, when and if something happens to the 470)

Todays update...
109 E has cleared the paint shop, had its canopy attached and is awaiting its decals and final touches/teeny bits.
Nothing happening today, giving my eyes a rest, doing some food shopping (I gotta eat too ! ) and a small paint restock.
Will finish/photograph the 109E tonight (pix tomorrow) and start a new 72nd flyer (or two) tomorrow, still undecided as to what they'll be.

As postulated yesterday, the 109 E will be finished today, only needs its decals and teeny bits attached . after that I'll take its pix and start anothery, this time it'll be a memory laner, in the shape of an Italeri Ju-87G Stuka "gunbus", which I remember as a rather nice example of the species (although not quite as nice as the Frog or Fujimi examples), its still a nice kit (and cheaper (usually) rhan the price you'd pay for a Frog or Fujimi one these days) I
