New Build desk,(a good way to start page 12), between back of sofa and kitchen area (winter location only) Desk is a 5ft x 2ft sheet of 1/2 inch chipboard with white vinyl topping atop a 4 drawer bedside table and a small bench. 🥱
On the desk, a Takom StuG III F8, mit winterketten is coming along, superstructure and engine deck pieces only placed for photos, lower hull and tracks are completed, not bad for half a day, with time off for glue setting (coffee time) and good behaviour on the builder's part.😴
Referring to the photo of the desk at the top of this post, atop the stack of unbuilts at the LH end of the thing is the recently found Dragon StuG IV (Late), which is no further forward than when it was put somewhere safe before xmas and promptly forgotten about.. I will return to it, but only after both the kits under it have been completed (plus a couple more that ain't in the stack yet !) 🫨

Cheers Guys 👍
Bucky, its only that clean because at the time I took those photos, I'd literally just built the desk, it got tidier after I removed the stacked unbuilt kits from it... Its tidier again now, because I've moved the finished StuG III off it (to the paint desk), and not yet started the next project ! 🫨
Matters arising, the StuG III F8 is finished and only needs paint (unless I decide to scratchbuild the rear deck stowage rack these things were quite often seen with in pictures from the period...
Next project is about to be started (unless I change my mind about what I want to build next)... 😈🤔

Decided to do one of the recently arrived Takom Tigers, a Mid production jobby (not the Carius one) its been a while since I've done a Tiger, so...
Thus far its no problems
Tracks are link and length, plus two guide teeth to be added per link, fiddly but easy enough (although quite naughty word inducing) 🤬😳
I'm rather glad I've got that stage done ! 😈

As I thought, its dun and off into the paint queue (I really must paint a few in that queue !).🥱
What's next ? I rather fancy a Border Model kit, not one of the Hummels recently added, but another big cat of a smaller than normal big cat size.. confused ?
Answer in tomorrow's sitrep...Til then you can stay in suspenders 😳😆

Sounds like a Panther on the way!

Not a Panther, Border ain't dun a Panther... They've done Tigers, Crusaders, a T-34 and various PzKpfw IV variations (including the two Hummels and a Nashorn),as well as a StuG III G, but no Panthers,. I was going to do their PzKpfw II Luchs (Lynx). Unfortunately, that's a no go at present (forgotten where I've put the kit)...🫨
Never Mind, I've found another littly to do - Takom's StuG III G / Ersatz M7, which has no chance of being finished as an Ersatz anything, it'll be a late StuG III, minus Muzzle brake - hopefully that'll do ? 😎 Its also the last of the Takom StuG III kits I have in stock, although I intend grabbing few other StuG III kits shortly, from the likes of Border, Dragon and possibly the Tamiya kit as well, just cos I love the figures given in that kit (plus the little dog they have as a pet !) 🙄

I dunno about a good build, (that rather depends on the kit concerned), but I'll try to do my best with it - hopefully that'll do ya ? 🤔🙄

Cheers Guys 👍
The StuG can wait a bit, I've decided to clear the paint queue, before it overwhelms the desk its sitting on ! 🥱🫨
This is what's happened (and is still happening) round the works this week, given the enforced layoff following a compressor tank seal blowing mid job 🤬. Luckily my old compressor saved the day, (by working just long enough for me to flush the airbrush clear of paint) 😲, so no airbrush was lost due to paint hardening inside it. (whew !) 😳. I've since replaced the tank seal on the compressor, had a good look at the old compressor (motor burned out, replacement motor patts cannot be got, owing to the age of the thing, so its been ditched), So after those two days whilst I waited for the new tank seals to arrive in the post, everything has gone along nicely... 😎
So here's wot's been happening otherwise...
Italeri Hetzer has had its details and tracks painted (the mucky track colour will pass for the start of its weathering !
Tamiya M-16 has been finished to much the same stage...
As has the Takom StuG III F8 (another reason the unbuilt StuG can wait !)
Finally, The recently finished Takom Mid Production Tiger has been sprayed overall in the basis of its camouflage...
That's the most up to date happenings from this direction. Next time you see any of these, they'll be finished and enroute to my display shelves !
