Cheers Folks 👍
Konigsberg's forward superstructure has gone aboard, along with the upright part of her Pole Foremast (the rest of which will be added last, to avoid damage once its affixed atop the mast). Her secondary/heavy flak armament has also gone aboard, unpainted as yet. The unexpected onset of a sudden, blinding headache then stopped play immediately. Once I've got shot of the headache, she can go back in her box and I'll git back onto something in 35th... 🙄
Problem is my current glasses formula is getting to its time expiry and my eyes are not playing the game when it comes to tinly little ship parts. I'm due for new glasses early next year, so maritime projects will resume as soon as I get the new glasses. The slipways are closed until then. If there's a positive side to the situation its that I got two ships completed in the shape of Alaska and Cornwall. 😎
Sorry but my remaining sight has to come first.😵💫

Headache seems to have been caused by my desktop flourescant tube getting old and strobing in rather fast, almost unnoticeable (by me) fashion 🫨. Have replaced the tube with a new one this morning and spent some time at the desk, perusing a set of 35th instructions and kit parts, with no sign of impending headaches 👍 Will get that kit started tomorrow (got a few medical appointments to get to today)
Sticking with 35th til I get my new glasses, not willing to risk my eyes again. 🤔

It's great that you got it figured out before your eyes worsened. Yes, please protect your eyes. Looking forward to the heavy metal you're getting ready to do.

It never occurred to me that it might be a light causing your headache. I'll hafta keep close tabs on my lights.

Cheers Guys 👍
Bucky I didn't spot it actually, until a visitor asked me how I could work under a light like that...
Started and got a bit of a run on the Takom mid production Hetzer...
Its the non interior kit, but still has a couple of internal bits to it, decided to add this bulkhead, cos the rear running boards are attached to it, as is the underside of the upper hull overhang...Looks as below in topless mode 😳
That's it for today's doings - biggest pain thus far was a bit of flash on some of the link and length track links, meaning a bit of pointy tip of knife work to get shot of the flash, time consuming, but safely negotiated (didn't cut myself with the new #1 blade in the knife !)
Catchyas tomorrow, its rainy and cold out here at present, so ideal muddlin' weather.

Cheers folks 👍
Joe, the rain doesn't bother me, the cold does, its nasty cold out here... (Doesn't snow this close to sea level, but it does get cold - we're currently on day 2 of what the weather bods say could be the coldest 3 days of the winter season this year.
Anything I build for the next couple of months will be built, not painted, Acryl paint does not dry properly in this kind of cold, looks like it'll be a build fest til somewhere round September, followed by a paint fest. Main problem is condensation in the air lines, tends to ruin paint when a large blob of water hits whatever you're spraying 🤬 No Thanks ! Luckily, winters this cold don't happen very often out here...

Cheers Folks 😀
Bucky, a small heater under the desk by my feet saves combing thru the fuzzy blanket looking for tiny parts tweezerpulted into it !
As for the Hetzer, stick a fork in it, its dun 😎
Decided to leave the machine gun off the top, the mount is all there (first time I've seen that in a Hetzer kit !) wasn't unusual to see a Hetzer minus that MG, it got in the way of the gunner opening his hatch if he needed to get out in a hurry ! Nice little kit too, fell together nicely, Got another one around somewhere..and Takom's just released a late Hetzer on winter tracks... hmmm pretty sure one of those kits will be ordered by me shortly... 🤔
I'll let you know what my next victim is when I decide what's next, got a few choices...

Plenty of choice for Hetzer kits in 35th Joe....
Italeri- (Mid/Late) an oldy, but still a good 'un, early issue kits have hard vinyl 'laccy band tracks that are usually too short, later kits have the same link/length tracks as the Tamiya kit I've just built one, its the one with the eyes on the gun mantle in my last lot of armour photos in the finished Armour forum.
Tamiya- (Mid/Late) pretty much an Italeri reissue, but a small cut above Italeri Has link/length tracks in kits I've seen
Dragon - 3 seperate kits, Early, Mid(also has flammpanzer/flame thrower gun barrel and mantle in kit), Late/Command (has star aerial and extra bits associated with command jobs in the kit) All have indy link tracks. (Built the Mid as Flammpanzer recently) Got the Late around here somewhere, along with a New Connections resin conversion kit to make it into something else Hetzer based
Academy - 2 Seperate kits Early and late, both have link/length tracks and are nice kits (I've built the late, have yet to get to the Early)
Takom - At least 6 kits Early, Mid, Late (2 kits of each variety, one of each type has full interior parts, one doesn't (and is cheaper to buy). They've just released a Late/Command jobby on Winter tracks (no side skirts, tracks are wider than the mudguards and skirt armour brackets) All have link and length tracks. They've just announced a mid Flammpanzer kit as well (mid production as Flamethrower)
Thunder Model - A range of BergeHetzers (recovery vehicles (open topped with a winch in the fighting compartment and a spade attached to the rear (think small BergePanther)

Got it this far between practice sessions yesterday...
Thus far, its a bog standard Panzer IV style chassis, with no assembly problems or woes. Teeny bit of flash here and there, but no real dramas to clean that off, link and length track gave no dramas, fitted like a glove first time.

Cheers folks 👍
Thus far its a doddle, like most SPG's (Self Propelled Guns), the lower hull/chassis/running gear is not usually a problem, its the internals and the gun where it gets tricky, even with the Tamiya kit of this vehicle. There's always some sort of problem with those stages, which are the next stages of the assembly of this kit.
That's for tomorrow, its race day Sunday out here, so I'm having the day off, I'll be in front of the tube all day.
Normal service resumes tomorrow
