I am now officially retired!!! We had a beautiful ceremony this afternoon. Many people that I have worked with throughout my career came to wish me well. Many more people than I thought would be there. It was wonderful! Kelley received these flowers.  I received these items.    The flag was flown over the U.S. Capitol. The steel plaque was cut with a plasma cutter. I had a great career as a machinist. Now I will have great career as a retired machinist! |

I will work on my model cars, my wood lathe, photography, model railroading, and a new craft that Kelley introduced me to called diamond art. It is like cross stitch with little beads. It is fun. We will be watching our grandchildren during their school breaks. I don’t think I will be too busy. We will do some traveling in the future. We will have fun! |

Especially with family! Hopefully I will be able to teach my grandchildren some of my hobbies! They love to look at my model cars, and play with my Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars! |

Congratulations on the retirement Mike! Wow!! I can only hope to retire at some point in my life and I'm sure it feels great to be free of employment and having those demands on your time gone. lol

Had 4" of snow followed by a week of rain... snow is gone but they say it will change back to snow on the weekend! |

About 2 decades ago I was wondering if I would ever retire. Time does fly by, and retirement found me! Be happy in what you do for a living. That is what I did. Time goes by faster that way! Retirement will be yours before you know it! Being gainfully unemployed is GREAT!!! Kelley and I can do what we want when we want to! We look forward to watching grandchildren during their Christmas vacation! We also love being together all day long! Retirement is a wonderful career choice! |
